I always worried about someone running off with mine. But now I just worry about it slowly coming unscrewed from the mount.

There was a spring. Here's how it happened:
    >backing into carport
    >hear thud...thud
    >wtf
    >realize oh fuck, it's my antenna hitting the beams
    >decide to pull forward and take the antenna off before attempting reverse maneuver
    >pull forward, the antenna catches in the beam
    >I get out of the truck and see about 10" of antenna sticking from the beam
    >MFW

    Bummer. What's next?

    Truth

    See above^

That sucks. Thankfully mine hasn't walked away yet.

I haven't lost an antenna to trees or a carport, but my carport did eat my Plano Rifle case. That made a pretty decent pop when it shattered into pieces. :(

I'm trying to find the site where I bought my mount from. It's pretty awesome. :)

 too lazy to twist disconnect antenna. not too lazy to get out tools and swap out antenna and retune radio.
