And in Massachusetts all gun sales must go through the state website from one licensed owner to another. You have go through a background check before you can get your license. The licenses are also taken away very quickly if you have any trouble with the law.

What's everybody doing for the 4th?

 

Working on the third and then cookouts

 

Working on my truck as much as possible.

 

I've actually got the 3rd off
Of course, it's going to be spent working around the house, haha. We've got an electrician coming to run the wire from the house to the garage so I can FINALLY have power out there without running an extension cord. Will make using my shop MUCH easier (and also legal, since it won't be powered by a double-ended extension cord plugged into one of the outlets )
And I'm having them run cable large enough to handle a true 100 amp load, so I can run my old Craftsman stick welder in the garage without worrying about voltage drop. Right now the only way I can run it is by moving the downstairs oven out of the way and plugging it in to that outlet, and working on the ground.
So.....YAY FOR POWER IN THE GARAGE!


Edit- Rented a tractor with a backhoe on it this past Saturday and dug the trench between the house and the garage. 4 feet deep (to get well below the frost line) and roughly 50 feet long. Took me about 2 hours. Well worth the $175 rental fee, since it saved me having to dig the trench with the African Backhoe instead. That would have taken a LOT longer!

 

Heading up to the in-laws place in southern Maine. My wife is off ask next week, I'll probably take a day or 2 and work the rest of the time from our Freeport office

 

Nice. The coast on the 4th is always nice. Usually crowded, but nice.

Ugh, too crowded for me. I prefer early spring/ late fall when all the massholes have gone home.

 

I agree there. I typically don't go near the coast between Memorial Day and Labor Day unless it's North/East of Bar Harbor.

 

Have Friday off and took Monday as well - 4 day weekend for me. Probably hang around the house. I hoping for the rest of the parts to come in for my ol' Polaris quad that I'm resurecting. Engine is apart - top end at the machine shop, front end is apart - axle bearings are worn on one side, frame's been painted, wiring's been cleaned up. Maybe a vinyl wrap for the body (Mossy Oak, of course)???
This week's been pretty quiet as wifey and the daughter have been visiting "mother". Of course, I can't have any fun as the dog would tell her all about it as soon as the Mrs walks in the door.
As for the gun ownership talk - Nothing get's me more than reading the court verdict reports in the paper where someone is caught illegally carrying and gets off with a slap on the wrist. We really need to enforce the laws that we have as making more that basically duplicate what is already in existence won't do damn thing. NRA Life member...

 

Gotcha gotcha. In the state of MA, what is the process for buying from an individual?

And totally agreed in general vssman. As I see it if existing laws aren't enforced (on anything), what is the point of more laws?
