Yup...sticker shock

Just moved down here and everyone kept saying I was in for sticker shock with the ad valorom tax....Well that was no joke!! Almost 2k to get my 2004 Tacoma and 2009 CRV registered down here! The funny part of it...my 04 Tacoma was about $30 more to register than my wifes 09 CRV. The cost of car insurance almost doubled too...crazy!

Welcome to Georgia though! It was definitely a surprise to me when I got my truck and had to pay the tax last year!

 

Even transferring titles was a pain. Going from my dad to me was like $100. I was expecting $38. But I'm in Cobb so its a tad bit expensive

 

I've been watching this and the south east forum...not much happening it seems.

I've seen a ton of 2nd gens on the road down here and a first gen here and there. Been watching for Tacoma World stickers but haven't seen any! Saw a pretty nice red first gen DC here in Woodstock earlier today or yesterday, but was going the opposite way so I didn't get to drool over it much.

I'll keep an eye out for ya. I'm in Woodstock but I'm down to Chastain Rd all the time. I'm in a white DC that's stock...so it's not much to look at haha!
