Overall I might have you beat.
I was raised by a single mom (Dad bailed out when I was 4) and have 3 older sisters. Oh and I have two daughters as well. So trust me, I know what its like to compromise.

The mother-in-law living with you has got to be pretty rough though. As it is my mother-in-law decided to move about a mile away from us 5 years ago and that's already a difficult situation. She stops by all the F'n time unexpected with her little yappy demon dog from hell.

I apologize in advance if you seen the list below on anyother post from me. I don't often have much to contribute to TW but I like to come here. I thought the stuff below really helped look at the question from a wifes perspective. The OPs question was, what are the most ridiculously obsessive things done in connection to your truck? My question is whether my list outlining my OCD or my husbands. Maybe its just another way we've become "ONE ":).

First, it isn't my truck it's my husbands. I'm just married to the three of them (husband, Marines, Tacoma). Now that I have received and passed Toyota Tacoma OCD Boot Camp I am able to drive it every day. This is fortunate in that it is our only vehicle. While my husband is one of many away from home standing guard for our freedom, my job and the focus of my OCD is to:

    - First look for parking were there are no cars but don't take up two spots so someone doesn't key our truck
    - If I can't park away from cars find an end spot and park as close to the curb as possible; don't rub the tires on the curb
    - Make sure where ever I park I'm not in the path of, or down hill from, shopping carts
    - Under no circumstances am I to park next to a beat up car as it's a sign that they don't care about their own stuff so they won't care about ours
    - No eating or drinking in the truck
    - Wipe the dash and the leather seats once a week with 303 Protectant but never spray anything directly on the dash lenes cause stuff will get behind the lens
    - Don't let braking dust stay on the shiney parts of the wheels for too long
    - Wash or have the truck washed every 2 weeks but only at this one place
    - Have the oil changed every 5K miles but only by this one guy at the one dealer I'm allowed to go to
    - Have the truck detailed every other oil change but only at the same place we get the car washed
    - Listen carefully, everytime I start the car and when I pull into the driveway after driving it and before I turn it off, for strange sounds and if I hear anything I take it to the dealer but only have the one guy work on it

In no way am I complaining. It's all part of being married to a Marine and a Tacoma :). For the record, I love the way my husband takes care of me and our things. I love taking care of our silly truck as my way of feeling connected to him every time I get into and out of it. Also, I also love coming onto TW, meeting a lot of very interesting people, and learning about one of the things my guy enjoys most. Plus, by following the rules I am able to get my nails done every two weeks :).

The most ridiculous thing I do is washing it after I just washed it after I just washed it because it got a little dust on it. Maybe I need to get one of those giant fans in the garage sitting in front of the truck blowing 24/7. I don't mind getting it dirty, but when it's cleaned up I guess I like to keep it clean.

    He's a lucky guy.

The funny thing, is that I could print that list out, and give it to my wife, and she would have thought I wrote it. And then I ask why I would print out something that is part of her core programming.

Maybe we should start a sub forum for Tacoma wives. You guys could console each other, and offer support, and techniques on how to deal with Tacoma OCD.

So I got my new to me tacoma. Scratches and a few dings and here I am buffing all of the scratches painting, clay bar and was and wax all day for the past week. The glass has permanent hard water stains that I can't get out. Its driving me nuts and i spent 4 hours yesterday trying my hardest to remove them. Ive used every trick under the sun. I don't know what Im going to do because my odd is so bad. I didn't see them when I purchased it because it was gloomy but when the sun came out I saw the nastiness.

Not to bad for a 10 year old tacoma. Now the interior is a different story!

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
    I did that too.

Also, i have had the suspension apart, driven 3400 or so miles, installed a supercharger myself, added a switch, put in my light bar, 2 different sets of floor mats, washed it 3 time, done the seat covers, the windshield eyebrow, pulled switches out of the dash too look, spent a few meauring the bins behind the seats, ordered 2 sets of springs, installed 1, added 2 stickers, 3m'd the tailgate....

less than 2 months :/ and i have 2 other truck projects right now.. and a few furniture projects.

Yes i am a little obsessive, and i am a busy body. I hate sitting around.

I'm at least two inches taller in heels (depending on the pair), plus they make my ass look good.

    May God give you strength.

When my wife got pregnant... I knew I could not live with 3 women, and God gave me a little boy to even the odds.

Thank you Mr OCD. Maybe it is a little OCD but for me taking care of his truck by following his "rules" are my way of doing something for him every day. I love my Marine :). I'm learning to love his stupid truck . Did I say that out loud :rolleyes:.

THANK YOU to you and your husband (and to the many other vets and family members of those vets) for the sacrifices you make to help keep this country free. All of us enjoy Independence Day only through the selfless commitment of our nation's military.

I always remember to thank my wife during a ceremony or promotion because she has to deal with me being gone for a long time or working late and she's always supportive. Now to teach my wife to love my truck when Im gone. She can't drive a stick well so she's learning so she can drive it when Im not around. Thanks to TW members who support the military I've actually met members on fort campbell through this site lol.
