Nice looking truck. Were you able to run your 265/70R17 Goodyear Duratracs without rubbing before your suspension modifications? Really don't want to mod my suspension on my truck right now.. I'm running 265/65/17 right now without a problem. Think the 265/70/17 will rub or should I have enough clearance. I drive a 2012 PreRunner.

I have an 07 prerunner with 265/70/17 yokahamas, the front left rubs, due to taco lean. You will need something to lift it, unless you want it to rub everytime you turn left...

Before I installed the Icon Suspension I had the 265/70R17 Duratracs mounted on my Stock TRD Sport Wheels and they fit just fine with no rubbing issues.

After I installed the Icon Suspension set at 2.5" of lift I had the 265/70R17 Duratracs still mounted on my Stock TRD Sport Wheels and they fit just fine with no rubbing issues, however they were much closer to the UCA's.

After I dropped it off to get the 265/70/R17 Duratracs mounted on my new Method Double Standards, I started to rub ever so slightly on the front wheel well lining as well as ever so slightly on the front mudflaps at a full turn simply due to the fact that the new rims are 8.5" wide with 0 offset, so they're fairly close to the UCA still, but stick out almost 1.5" further, which gives me a nice stance. I have yet to do any trimming and I am unsure if I even want to as the rub is very minimal (I only notice it when I back out of my driveway and turn onto the street).

I will likely purchase a new UCA in the coming months and lift it to the full 3" that the Icon Suspension can provide to remove any rub without serious modification to the vehicles integrity, as I'd like to keep my truck 100% returnable to stock. That means no drilling or cutting, which I have so far achieved, even if I'd potentially like to upgrade to 275's or 285's in the future, which will likely ruin my plan...

I definitely understand wanting to go back to stock without any repair work to be done. I would like to keep my as close to returnable to stock as possible... so I understand your concern there. I really would like to run 265/70/17 instead of my 265/65/17 so if I had to remove my front mud flaps, it'd be okay with me... ideally if my truck was 4x4 I would want to run 275's at the most due to gas prices. I appreciate your help.

Plus a couple photos from my trip, just one of my truck though

Here's the trailer I brought along, needed to carry 3 kayaks, so I fit them inside, otherwise I would've brought the camper along instead. Tenting was good though, I slept well, makes me want to get a Root Mounted Tent.

We used a Jeep instead of my Tacoma to get out to this remote lake, simply because of the very tight trail and the amount of bush around, I would've scratched the crap out of my truck, and this Jeep was already very scratched from going there over the years. We travelled only 7km to get there, but it took us a good 47 minutes just to do so, never had to use the winch at all.

And just another shot of the view from shore.

Purchased a set of Icon's Neoprene Coil-over Shock Protection Covers, I've found myself to be off-roading in mud and dirt more often than not, so I decided I may as well spend the extra little bit and save my shocks.

Seems as though I'll need to get some off-road pics.

The icon suspension make a big improvement going from stock? I was thinking about getting the stage 2 icon set up with total chaos UCA. I'm just going to do a 1.5" lift so I can fit a 265/70/17 tire with no rubbing

I was surprised by the improvement, specifically at higher speeds, washboards are not a problem any more.

I too want to get the Total Chaos UCA's, but the current Canadian to USA dollar is so bad that I'm trying to wait it out, or get a set for free (I doubt it lol). Same goes for the Pelfreybilt Front Bumper I want.

Also, a little update on the skid plates I'm working on, planning to finally build them after I get a Pelfreybilt Bumper to make sure they fit properly. I know i've got some changes to make tho :p

Finally got around to finishing my Skid Plate design. Got it cut, bent as well as welded the mounting tabs on. Here it is mounted before I paint it, I'm going to leave it bare aluminium for a bit before I take it down and do so, as I havn't decided between Line-x or Spray Can. Built from 1/4" Aluminium.

Finally got around to painting the Skid Plates. I liked it bare aluminium, but I like it even more painted. I'll likely be changing out the IFS->Mid Hex Bolts with carriage bolts sometime soon.

Fuse/Relay Block (cover not pictured) and Circuit Breaker with custom aluminium mount, engine bay has since been cleaned! Likely going to paint this mount black sometime soon. Lots of fuses even though many currently have nothing wired to them, essentially spares as of now. :D

Loving the build! Truck looks sexy with the HomerTaco grille ;) How did you fab up the skid plates? I would like to do the same thing because I cant quite afford to buy plates plus I really like the DIY aspect of it

I got them cut using a CNC Laser Jet Cutter and CNC Press Brake to bend them. Welded the mounting feet in place. Or did you want to know the full process?

No that's it! Did you do it yourself or have it done somewhere?
