Call up your local parts store and ask for a water pump gasket for a 1997 Toyota 4Runner when they say they have it in stock have them pull the part from the shelf to confirm it being there. Once they have it in hand, ask them to attempt to explain it's shape to you. You will get an even larger chuckle out of that one.

Fleet/ Costco/ Internet price. I've found them all to be about the same depending on the dealer.

    Just the basics
I've bought 3 Toyota trucks since 1990 and all three purchases were through the fleet department with no haggle or false pretense.

The existing model codes 7593 and 7594 are for double cab short beds with manual/auto. The VDS (I dunno what that stands for) for those two is CZ5AN. I'm assuming that *Z5AN means short wheelbase V6 4x4 because that part of the VDS is shared with the access cabs. Since the second set of double cabs has a different VDS and it's only available in the automatic I'm guessing that's the long bed. But it looks like you can get a DCLB with the TRD off road. That's exciting.

edit: fixed a typo and clarified a bit

Exciting but kind of Toyota bending for the mall crawler, the whole reason the off road isn't available in long bed is because of the degraded off road performance with the longer wheelbase, turning radius, etc. Great if you want a rear locker and long bed but if your looking to actually crawl and off road your not gonna want the long bed config. But to each their own. Another example of Toyota moving away from the taco roots.

Exactly, just pointing out the reason why the off-road came in only short bed up until now. My truck is a street queen, just needed the longbed for mx bikes. If I took my truck off-roading on a regular basis the clear choice would be the short bed, there's no arguing its better suited for that application over the long bed.

I always figured it wasn't to maintain offroad roots, but because they were too lazy to engineer the necessary differences for the OR config, specifically the different rear axle. Without an OR longbed and only being automatic, all of the longbeds have the exact same chassis. It may seem trivial, but it is one more assembly line to manage. Maybe this means all 2016 configs have the same rear axle.

OZ-T nailed it. Now, it seems, you can choose between long wheelbase or short and still get an e-locker and ATRAC. If you need the best OR vehicle, get the shorty. If you need 4 real doors and a 6ft bed, and you want off road traction controls, you can do that too. Everybody wins. Unless you want a manual transmission longbed lol.

Unfortunately not. But you can refer to their corresponding codes as stated.

And they axed the 8.0 diff, apparently. So they may be all the same size OR or not. Also one config you can't is an access cab prerunner OR, not that anyone cares. But there'll be a whole ton of variety.

Also notice how the only the base model SR 4x4 gets the 5MT while both TRDs get the 6MT.

The v6 is listed 7gr... Just like some people first assumed

I don't know much about the current names, which one has the locker and what not? Is there a list of current models that say what they have?
