Right there with you. Haven't been to the gym since Wednesday. Drank my weight in booze since, probably double by now. Ate like a fat kid at summer sleep away camp. Coming home tomorrow. Going to be a long week to undo this damage...

So much alcohol. But I really didn't eat too much shit. Had steak yesterday before we started partying. Didn't really eat much after that. Until a hamburger at 2:30 this morning after getting out of the hot tub. Overall, it was a damn good weekend.

Now...7 days until my birthday. We'll see what happens there.

Thanks, it felt good to get out and go.

Finally getting back in the groove after being out of town and being busy with work, did a pretty simple workout tonight , my trainer has decided we will be working cardio 3 days a week and weights twice a week with 2 rest days, hoping to increase my running distance to 2.5 miles in the next 2 weeks, and start working with the 45 lb plates sometime soon.

    Tonight's circuit.

My weekend went about as planned. Friday night, I went to Mexican and had fried fish tacos and a margarita. Saturday, the only thing I ate all day was a footlong from Subway and went on the liquid Natty Light diet for the rest of the day. I think I put pack about 25 lol. Yesterday, I layed in bed all day and played Xbox lol. I was hurting. I was actually able to eat though…pizza rolls, buffalo chicken tenders, fried chicken, a protein shake, and about 2 gallons of water lol. Back on the regular diet today and actually going to the gym since last Thursday :anonymous: 4th of July got me again…

Didn't you read what he just said? He doesn't need any more cookies!

So, I went to bed around 6 am yesterday morning. Ended up waking up around 9:30 and was wide awake. So I got a bite to eat and went to the gym. Tried to sweat out the alcohol. Haha. Did a quick chest workout then went and ran a mile. I thought I was going to die. It was like a 9:30 mile.

    Right on...keep going brother.

So what weight did you start at and what's your goal? How tall are YA?

UN-Like our buddy Zack I get this guilt thing when I skip days or get nuts with my intake. I wish I could just enjoy a good unhealthy meal once in a while or miss a workout / jog day and not be pissed at myself. Gotta say I'm jelly.

I'm kinda the other end man. I've been trying to build mass eating healthy & high protein and working out EVERY day since Christmas. I've gained 3 pounds as of this morning....I'm at 153 & im 5-9...yes, I'm still the fat ass in my family.

Started in late August last year at a whopping 305 lbs, goal weight is TBD as I'm not really sure about going off of weight, I'm gonna go until I'm happy with the results.
I'm 6'2"-6'3" depending on who's measuring, I'm a big boned bastard as well.

I'm currently at 246 lbs, I was down to right at 240 in May but I slacked off my clean eating and cut back on workouts because it was getting warm (up until last week 99% of my workouts were outside) so I gained 6 lbs and have held steady there.

It's been quite the journey and I'm pleased with what I've accomplished so far.

I used to feel really guilty about skipping workouts also but I've gotten the mentality where if I miss a workout I make sure I get the next one and hit it twice as hard.

60 pound in 12 months is good man!

I use a combo of BMI (not great in my view) and body fat percentage to help me gauge progress. In my case it's a slow process...

That said, I've not always been this size but it's not changing much now so I guess I'm gonna have to be ok with it...

You know how our state is...there's some big bastards here so even buying cloths can be a challenge for me at least in the men's section (as opposed to boys NOT misses). :)

I'm guessing, being the tall dude you are, 246 is ok...???

It's not like I don't feel bad after a shitty meal or a day of partying, but shit happens. The 4th of July was me just saying, "fuck it, I'm a free American and I'm going to do what I want." I don't like not getting all 4 of my workout days taken care of in a week, but again, sometimes shit happens. I don't think a bad meal here and there is significant enough to do any major derailments…As long as I see weekly progress, I'm fine having a weekend to relax. Besides, being 5'9" and 153, maybe a cheat meal or 2 per week wouldn't kill you.

Thanks, I'm very happy with my progress.

Yeah, i'm not a fan of BMI (Based on height/weight only), I'd like to start measuring body fat and see where I'm at.

If you're healthy and can do anything (or most anything) that your job and hobbies need you to be able to I'd be pretty happy.

Yep, lots of Big Ol boys down here, one of my buddies (Actually my trainers husband) is 6'2'' or so and ~375 lbs.

I'm fairly happy with where I am now but I want to be stronger and if I can keep training to gain muscle and lose fat that's what I'll do.
I look a lot better than what I did a year ago, both sets of my grandparents say that I don't need to lose anymore weight (I disagree), I think I want to lose about 20 more lbs, and my trainer says I could lose more weight and she could get me into physique building.

However according to BMI (Which i don't think is particularly accurate) I'm at the very bottom end of Obese,6 lbs lighter and I'd be at the top end of overweight.

Oh ya I really am a little jealous that people are comfortable with going off the plan. You guys are in way better shape than me in those terms... It's odd because I beat myself up over that shit & then get pissed that I'm beating myself up...

I think BMI is an ok guide for people not into being fit but just wanna be on the healthy side.

I wasn't able to find one in my area but in one of my out of town excursions I found a programmable scale that's average quality at best (at least it provides a trend) to measure weight, body fat, BMI, muscle mass, bone mass and gives caloric intake & time to achieve your goal (set in pounds by the user) assuming 1 pound (or 3,500 calories a week) in change. It uses an electric pulse to measure those things while your getting weighed.

I'm currently at around 13% body fat with a goal of hitting 8 to 10% regardless of my weight. I'd actually like to gain some weight and lower or at least keep my 20 pounds of fat I've got on me.

    ON EDIT:

BTW, I'm sure the scale is not dead on accurate (tho I think the pounds are damn close) but it was only about $40 & does trend with my calorie intake/activity and the visible changes in my shape.

    ON SECOND EDIT:

Do others on here track their blood work results & blood pressure?

Calories in vs calories out. You can cheat and not get fat

I don't get blood work done, but I check my bp regularly. When dirty bulking last year, my bp got higher than I liked (140/80) from all the salt, as well as a lack of potassium, water and cardio, but just by simply reducing the sodium to around 3600 mg per day, upping potassium up to around 4900 mg per day, and drinking tons of water, it's like 110/70 now and my resting heart rate is around 58-60. For reference, my sodium intake was around 5000 mg per day and potassium was like 700 mg. I still do zero cardio, but my diet wasn't focused on micronutrients, so my bp rose. I read about how simply consuming more potassium than sodium can reduce bp significantly, so I tried it and, in my case, it seemed to work. The study I read (I'll try to find it tomorrow) basically said sodium intake is irrelevant, so long as more potassium is consumed (to sort of cancel the sodium out), as well as consuming at least a gallon of water per day (to flush out excess sodium).

Not that I'm anti-cardio or anything. I really need to start doing some HIIT again a few times a week #lazy

Excellent BP and heart rate man.

Interesting how the bodies electrolytes interact. I guess I've not correlated those two prior to your post.

I've always been pretty healthy but, over the past few years been really focused on my overall health. I watch my BP & heart rate daily during rest, cardio and post cardio / work out. My BP is typically 115/65 and 62bpm resting.

My goal is an attempt at long term quality of life...so staying in reasonable shape and remaining fit enough to live alone years down the road. I'm currently single with no plans to change it and my son lives out of state. But then I see guys on here & some of the cats I work with who are healthy and are carry some mass and look better and I want to find a way to achieve both. Of course I have that (almost unhealthy) focus quality & quantity of what I put in my body (other than Grizzly Wintergreen) so it's difficult. Have steered away from supplements because I've always felt (right or wrong??) natural intake is healthiest.

Anywhot, I've been a lurker of this section for a while and decided to jump in....you cats have done an awesome job!
