yea but if your wheel bearing goes when you are wheeling and don't have spare. It really doesnt matter how easy they are to change out.

Wheel bearings every 30k is worth it when you have a badass truck like that. If it came like that from the factory like that it could be an issue, but hell don't Chevy guys do the u joints every 30k?

You know what pisses me off the most about DB lifts?! The name,DB is synonymous with the term douche bag.

Guys I really need help here....I'm wanting to go 6" lift with 35's but im terrified of doing it due to gas mileage and power loss. Do you really have to re-gear a 2014 automatic? What's the power and gas mileage loss? I have heard people only getting 10-12 mpg and the torque convertor unlocking all of the time....help me out I need some info to help me decide?????

I would regear if you want to keep your transmission happy. Power loss you can feel with stock gears. Your MPgs will be from 13-16mpgs.

35's weigh a lot more than a stock tire size, therefore it will take more to get it and keep it rolling giving you piss poor gas mileage. Plain and simple its physics, if your worried about gas mileage count out 35's, I put on 265's and can barely break 16 mpg now.

Stock gears and a light weight 35 wasn't too bad imo

Yes your mpg will suffer, and I wouldn't want to drive in stop and go traffic all day. I haven't regeared yet,but it's not to bad.

A few audio upgrades, tinted windows, remote start because it f'n hot in Texas! 6in Fabtech DB lift, 17x9 Fuel Trophy wheels, 315/70/17 Duratracs,BAMF 80in sliders w/kickout, Prinsu cab rack w/30in Heretic light bar, custom bedside decals, custom hi-lift jack brackets, US Offroad front bumper w/winch, bed rack with RTT, CB, Short wave base station, Ultra gauge, color matched grille surround, an ungodly amount of recover gear, ARB fridge, hood struts, RotoPax, traction pads.
I run a Fabtech 6in DB lift with 17 in Fuel wheels and 315/70/17 DuraTracs. It is true that my fuel milage has decreased. I average 13.7 mpgs. I can do better on the hwy but I do about 50/50 city to hwy driving. I also have not recalibrated my speedo so that number is sceued a little. At 67 I'm really doing 75 mph. I don't notice such a dramatic lose in power from the added weight and added rotational mass of the oversize tires. But I do notice that at above 60-65 my tranny kicks down to 4th to hold speed. If a haul my trailer with the toys, ie 4 wheelers and dirt bikes or the jeep, I'll get 8.7 mpg. Bring extra fuel cans if going off road. The worst thing I felt about the whole lift was the dramatic difference in the braking power. The first time I drove it after the lift was installed it felt like it took a country mile to stop the truck at hwy speed. Around town the brakes felt barely adequate. I immidatly address the situation but there was nothing wrong with them. I got use to it after a while and don't even think about it now. But if I was going to upgrade anything that would be on the top of my list! I will eventually regear but probably not until I jump up to 37's. Hope this helps.

If you have not re calibrated your speedo then your ODO is off too so there is no way you are getting almost 14 mpg...prob closer to 12 mpg

I will have to disagree. My odo shows less miles then driven, so my actual fuel milage is better then the math would suggest.

yup, my bad. Ultimately anyone putting on a lift or putting on 35's should not be worried about MPG's , if you are you are in the wrong hobby... Hell just switching to MT's at any size can kill 2 mpg

Thanks for the info...in running A Toytec Boss lift now with 285 MTZ and my mileage dropped a little just doing that. I still get 18 by my GPS so it's gonna be hard for me to drop to 12-14 MPG!! But man I love those 35's. I wish there was a good looking setup with a 4" lift and 34's. My whole idea is I wanna change my truck up some but I want to go up not down and 285's are so close to a 33 that I figure my next step up IS a 35....any suggestions?

That is what I don't get, stock the speedo reads faster than your going:miles add up faster and real time MPG calculate higher. So with 35's you speedo read slower than you actually going. So if you recalibrate it to dead on or close to it,your MPG is accurate? So if you recalibrate your speedo to dead on with stock tires, you'll still lose MPG? Right.

I used to run a 285x75r17 on my last rig that was about 5" lift and It looked good.

I'm now about to squeeze the same sized tire on my 3" lift

I have scoured the Internet for 2 weeks looking for a good setup hoping to find a 4 or 4.5" with something a lil bigger than 285/70's but I haven't ran across anything yet.
