After showing my supercharger around and soliciting opinions from my friends I have decided to see what you guys think. Take a look at these pictures and tell me if you think this looks new, used, or refurbished. I paid FULL price for a new tacoma, off the lot, with a new supercharger. Thanks everyone!

If only this thread made sense to me. The title says used blower but your context says new blower. So which one is it man?

Do you think it's possible that maybe it had burrs on it so they were grind off before shipping? Looks pretty new to me though.

I am sorry for the confusion. Because the supercharger is supposted to bolt right on, there should be no need to alter it from the factory. Because this one looks altered, I am wondering if anyone suspects it is refurbished. Does anyone else out there have a similar looking install?

looks nice. can you take a big picture of where this is situated in the engine bay ?

also, is it powered by an additional drivebelt pulley, turbo, or something else ?

You need to pull that part of it out in order to install it. If it looks like they touched it, they probably did it to ensure a good sealing surface.

I think it's safe to assume the machining is factory :)

thanks, that looks beautiful. in addition to obviously requiring a longer drivebelt (is this correct?), did you have to install any additional idlers to accommodate the new layout ?

But isn't the crankshaft drivebelt what powers the S/C ?

oh, i see, you don't extend the drivebelt to reach the S/C but you extend it with a smaller belt. but off of which pulley do you piggyback (what is the "accessory drive pulley"?)

i understand how the drivebelt system works, however, i was asking where in that system (crank + 4 default accessory pulleys + 2 idlers + tensioner) do you fit the new one that powers the S/C or do mount it on top of an existing one kindof like the water pump pulley also powers the fan

From what I can see you don't have the same machining marks.
