    I don't see diesel being realistic for you. If an awesome deal dropped in your lap, ok.

    I was more interested in a manual trans and unmolested suspension when I got rid of the Dodge 2500 V10 (4" wagon-riding lift, tired A/T that wouldn't hold OD) for the Ford F250. M/T is just more prevalent with diesel versus V10/big blocks. The V10 would get 10mpg no matter what, which is just fine when it's parked for 2 weeks at a time.

    I'm hoping to end up with a pop-up truck camper or decent sized enclosed trailer for the buggy (~3000 lbs). Lots of edge of valley trips when the buggy is together and a trip to Moab and KOH each year very likely.

    I actually towed the buggy a couple times with my lifted 1st gen taco :eek: Not recommended. Figure 2-2.5 for standard car trailers and actually closer to 4 for any regular Jeep. That is well within recent 1/2 ton capacity.

    Based on prior experience, run from any lifted truck with unknown history.

    I would get a Ram 2500 diesel in a heart beat if not the gas version instead. I drove a 2500 gas for a weekend and loved it. Got 20mg on straight aways and it has intelligent cruise control going down hill. My wife loved it, but it would definitely need steps on for her to get in.
