    Honestly I'm not sure. I get the best mileage on Shell and Coop gas, which both come from the same refinery. Im not sure how things work in your area, but here companies bring in fuel to their own depots from their own refineries if they have one in the province. I have no doubt that there is as much marketing in gas as there is in any chemical manufacturing. I can definitely tell the difference though between Shell/Coop gas and Esso/Costco gas up here.

    Fact: Chevron met the new fuel standards without reformulating and was the first to do it, while other subpar fuel makers had to reengineer their products.

    "Not only was ChevronTexaco the first marketer in the U.S. qualified to meet the 'TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline' performance criteria, but our quality fuels are also the first to the lead the way in Canada," said Shariq Yosufzai, president, ChevronTexaco Global Marketing. "We are extremely proud to be the first marketer qualified to meet these strict guidelines in both countries, and doing so without having to change any of the formulations of our gasoline."

    All grades of Chevron gasoline everywhere meet the new "TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline" criteria.

    Pretty sure it's illegal in the U.S. There was some weird NAFTA legal battle that Canada lost so we can't ban it. Last I checked every Canadian station uses MMT to cheaply boost octane except Shell.

    I would go buy it now and take it home, just to be safe. With the premiums some are starting to charge I would worry that it could 'accidently' be sold to a higher paying customer.

    Yup, my last three trips to the gas station I used premium. They were also premium gas stations...BP & shell.

    Just worry about running 91.

    Most stations use the same. Up here in Canada I notice a few differences between stations that draw from one of a couple of different provincial refineries.

    Mine was supposed to be done today. Just got a call that it won't be till tomorrow because the Master Tech got pulled off for something else. In the mean time I am stuck in a Camry.
