Curious if any members have the oem fat 5 star steel wheels that came on the base model 4x4 tacomas on their 1st gen. I have a 2000 and my wheels are in rough shape.

    Thanks

Be sure to get 6-lug wheels, not the 5-lug wheels mentioned in the previous post.

Also, why go steel? The OEM alloys are better looking, and lighter.

I want to get my OEM 2000 double 3 spoke wheels refinished.
I saw a set of the wheels I posted on CL for cheap and was just curious what they looked like on a 1st gen.

Here is what they look like on a 1st. gen. I love how they look and the valve stem is tucked away nicely to avoid off-roading damage. Unfortunately they have 5.25" backspacing which puts them closer to the chassis than 1st gen Tacoma/3rd gen 4runner wheels which all have 4.6" backspacing. Even with my 235/85r16 pizza cutters, my tires rub the frame rails slightly at full lock. I just obtained some cheap 3rd gen 4runner 5-spoke wheels so hopefully that will solve my tire rubbing.
