Nice truck man! I'm digging those wheels as well. Good to know I'm not the only one with that color combo.

I'd do it again for the same price. I LOVE my Softopper. I wouldn't turn down a discount either. ;)

I was treated very well when I went to buy mine. They did the dog window access thingy right there on the spot and gave me some install pointers while I waited. Super people.

I really like these softtoppers. I see them used on occasion. Can anyone tell me if bed dimensions of a long box 1St gen are the same as a long box 2ND gen?

Mine is from an '01-'04 truck. Bought newer clamps. It sits above the cab.

Does any one have the softopper and have the boot cover. I am specifically trying to figure out what happens with the cab side window. Does that have to be unsecured

I do... and yes, if you want to completely wrap it up and secure the clips, you have to unsnap, velcro or whatever is securing your front window to wrap it up

Is that as much a pain in the ass as it seems it would be? Is it worth it in your opinion?

The boot is more about storage when off the truck than wrapping it while folded on the truck. And no, it's not that much of a pain in the ass. Just more time.

    I don't have one...yet, but I'm heavily shopping.

I could not imagine folding up and booting the Softtopper would be more of a pain in the ass than removing and installing a hard topper several times a season. Fuck I'm getting tired of dealing with my solid bed cap!

Taking it off completely is 5 min, tops - by myself. I have the boot too, but I use it for storage only when off the truck

Thanks guys. I'm still gonna think on it some of wether or not I'll get it. I don't really ever take it off so I don't know. Here's another question has anybody got a good idea to replace those clips on the straps. They rust like crazy I was thinking of getting some stainless steel nite-Ize s beaner key clips to replace them with???

yes those clips rusting is a weak spot. the first time I rolled topdown and
    rain hit them, immediate rust.

replace them with anything else that doesn't rust would be fine.

    larger sbiners would work fine

So far I've added an Advance folding bed cover and since removed it. Gave it to my son in Maine, he has an 05 2wd. GT perfect fit seat covers. Weathertech floor mats and window vent visors. Waag center brush/grill guard. Hose clamp tailgate mod. Turned off the seat belt chime. Added Ultra-Gauge. Trailer hitch. Softopper. Replaced sun visors with slide out style. Toyota bed extender. Had Firestone Destinations and now Michelin LTX AT2 in stock size. More mods to come; Fog lights, locking storage in bed, intermittent wipers. Now looking for Radio/HU upgrade. and maybe a lift way down the road.
yeah was thinking I'll have to replace them eventually. I've had my cover for just a few years. Without looking I think it's the back ones rusting but the fronts look ok ? I may replace with mini biner or something like that when they get really bad.

I might pick up a Soft Topper from another member on here, but it's a lighter gray and I have a MGM truck.

I was wondering if anyone that owns one might throw in their two cents on how they think spray paint might work on these? I know it's ghetto, but I'm really looking to purchase on a budget and can't swing the $6-- for a brand new; any input is appreciated

I used forever black because mine was really faded from the previous owner.
    http://www.amazon.com/Forever-Black-Top-Gel/dp/B0053CS4I0

Ive read on the reviews that say you can dye another color to black with it but as far as spray paint goes im not sure.
