Annual OR/WA TSF Camping and Wheeling Shindig

Erica isn't coming. She isn't into wheeling and Levi wouldn't like it for an all day thing yet.

What food stuff are we looking for?

 

Damn I still wanna go to this so bad but it seems a waste to drive 10+ hours round trip for 1 day of wheeling. I'm trying to convince myself.

 

I'm at 7 hrs round trip....

I am short on cow flesh this year, but will bring a couple of rib eyes if I can find any in the freezer. I will likely also bring a couple of pork steaks. They grilled up real nice last year.
I will also have a couple of small folding tables and a 10' pop up canopy. Tent, chairs, beer, bacon, Sinfire...the essentials.

Still no sliders. I was told Friday that they would ship Monday, but have not received word from BAMF. Even if I do get them, no time to paint and weld on prior to Friday, so no wheeling for me. Not very happy with that transaction, but that is a campfire story.

 

I am 5 minutes from the McDonalds in North Plains. That being said, I will be driving directly from work in Tigard.

 

I won't be in until 10ish. So I'll eat unhealthy shit on the way in. Right now its just me. I threw a feeler out to some people to see if they wanted to ride shotty for the weekend.

I am still planning on going with my girlfriend aboard. I would like to check out the coast there too so not sure if we will camp with you guys and then go to the coast in the morning or maybe try for a site closer to the water. Any recommendations?

I got my shovel at Harbor Freight (thanks for the tip Mike!), and bought a 5lb ABC extinguisher + mount at Home Depot yesterday. Mounted it in back to the bed liner. The liner is a little wobbly with the weight but should be ok. Not sure what to do about that. I thought about a hi lift, but I have nowhere to place it underneath when it may be needed. But that reminds me...need to go out and check the jack I do have and see if it'll even work.

Edit: Stock bottle jack with a couple chunks of wood lifts the back end just fine, so the front should be good too.

Also aired up all tires including the spare, which was low. Now to just pack her up.

I've got the

$61 VIAIR 85P - 00085 Tire Inflator Portable Air Compressor for Car, Truck & SUV 12V On/Offroad Tire Pump Air Compressor Portable Heavy Duty 60 PSI, Cigarette Plug, Twist Chuck

Viair 85P and it works just fine. Takes ~5 minutes per tire to go from 12PSI to 35PSI. Not the most speedy thing in the world, but it works.

I also picked up an

$54 ARB ARB505 Deflator Kit 10-60 PSI Tire Pressure Gauge Rapid Air Down Offroad Kit With Recovery Gear Pouch (PSI)

ARB EZ Deflator. Seems a bit better than using a key or stick to hold down the valve stem.

 

I have a small portable one, but not sure how good it will be. I might just air enough to get me to a gas station on Sunday.

Shovel. Tent. Chair. Water. First Aid Kit. Getting hi-lift. Grabbing fire ext. Cooler and will make some sammies. Need to get tools together.
