Can someone please explain how to tap into the cig lighter to power a CB? I've searched and searched and I'm sure its a simple, straightforward process but I can't find how to do it. I just don't want to mess it up when I install my CB tonight. I'm using this post as reference for the install.

I hesitate to add a current draw to your power point in case you ever want to use it and the CB at the same time, as you could blow a fuse, or worse. Best to use an add-a-fuse tap in the fuse box behind the change holder in the dash by the driver's side door. You can then route the power line behind the dash under the stearing column and behind the center console which should put it about where you want it. You can make a suitable ground in several places, but I think I saw a good bolt right in front of the bulkhead behind the center console that might work well for you.

Thank you for the response. I decided to go ahead and run the power directly to the battery instead.
