Yeah I am from BC its been hard to go camping when we can't have campfires but I am making it work.

If you see my note above you can see how crazy/cautious some of the forest service roads and employees are being about people on their roads and in their campsites.

It's the wettest season in 20 years most of my friends who've lived out in Colorado for 20+ years have said. The last few years we've had fire bans almost everywhere in the state for the whole summer.

It feels weird to have a camp fire.

I saw that, although I didn't realize you are in BC too. I guess it's not that I couldn't go out still, but a big part of the experience is relaxing and having some drinks around the campfire with friends and family. That being said I do get why they need the fire ban on... pretty dry out here.

I've heard those propane fueled fire pits are okay throughout fire bans. Might look into that since it's pretty much inevitable that we will see a fire ban every summer.

I picked up my propane firepit at Costco used it a couple of times works pretty well. A friend of mine picked up the same model at Canadian Tire for around the same price. Don't know how many are left now that people are realizing they can't have fires.

Yeah don't know where you are in BC but some of the FSR's up near Harrison have been really strict, even some of the Hydro sites have closed down because they don't want people up their.

haha yeah I bet they are selling quick. Just like when you get a heat wave and all the sudden it's near impossible to find an air conditioner.

I'm in Merritt and haven't seen anyone standing guard at the FSR's yet. Although I wouldn't be surprised if some of the more popular lakes like Boss and Davis have people patrolling them.

The alcove is nice. You can stake it down at the legs, and it has guy-outs. I wish it had a screen option. It does have an option for wind-walls which I might pick up.

It's also got steel cable for shock cord in the poles.

Awesome. I too use that familiar yellow top tote for my kitchen. Do you have a link to the tool box? I'm always on a search to make my camp kitchen more efficient. I just found out on my last trip that I can stack 3 of those totes in the camper and then have even more room to overload my truck.
    3 totes:
    1:Kitchen
2:Misc Camp stuff-stove, extra propane, solar shower, axe, etc.
    3:firewood box.

You should post some pics, this is a picture thread ya know. :D

Worth every penny to me to not have to rummage in a tote to find a utensil, nor do I have to bend over when formerly rummaging, and maybe best of all, I have access EVERYTHING in the drawers while in transit. Two downsides is that it's HEAVY and not waterproof.

The yellow top totes are pretty tough. One holds bedding, the other all the misc camping gear (stove, heater, hatchet, saw, showers, lanterns, etc.) I stack the two totes and my tent goes top of the second tote. The arrangement gets two ratchet straps, one holding to the floor, and another holding to the front of the bed. It doesn't move a 1/4" :D

And to put my post on topic here is my truck on fire while camping in the desert from January. I solo camped one night prior to meeting a large group of friends the next day.
