    Strange that they would even bill you for atf at all. I wouldn't even run it in a t case. And if they put it in your clutch master cylinder, that's just insane, and if it took 4 qts to bleed it, that's alot of wasted fluid for a simple job. Hope they can give you a straight answer on what they used it for and why.

Here in the crotch of the Absarokas and Winds and in the Hole on the other side we've been getting daily down pours, it's the wettest summer I can remember in 13 yrs. There are trails on Togowotee I'm basically writing off until snowmobile season...

    I might be interested! What model of LFs? If they aren't huge, I've been wanting to run a ditch light set up.

    Edit, looks like Monte called dibs on them. If he passes, I would love to have them. I like the LFs, wouldn't mind swapping my Hellas around or finding a way to mount all of these. :p

    Now that I see this, I don't think that bare wire is the source of your check engine light. I also don't see how that bare spot could ground out on anything.

    After looking at this pic, I think your sensor must have failed after all. Get that clip apart and swap in a new sensor and you should be good to go.

    Yes, I've heard of that before...:cookiemonster: I read it on other various writeups too.

    The studs likely are quite rusted, at least at the tips, and the old lock nuts will likely jack them up even more. Think of this: mine were on a California truck that has never been modded before I had it, and hardly any snow or rain, nor salt, nor mud derp immersion. One stud simply was not going to allow me to rethread a new nut. The other was OK, but I ran the die over it anyway. I can only assume that in your more northerly conditions and more vigorous adventures, your's will be in worse shape.

    You do not want to have this all apart and then wish you had the tool...

    I did not have this trouble. Maybe its one of the differences between an auto and a manual. :p

    I did make sure the pipe was good and cold. I soaked everything with PB Blaster the day before. When I went to remove the nuts, I worked them gently. I didn't go for broke with the small ratchet. Barely start to loosen, feeling how much resistance there was. Reversed the direction several times and those nuts loosened up, then removed them.

    Did you get the Denso brand sensor? I think I recall mine came with new washers and nuts for the studs.

    3. This is Denso, but this part does not include nuts or washers. It does inlcude the gasket.
    The factory used flanged lock nuts, no washers. I got replacement lock nuts from the dealer, but ended up using regular stainless with lock washers.

    Yeah, you might be right. I just looked at what I bought. Different part number and $20 cheaper but no nuts in the pic.

    @m3bassman do you have a tube of anti-seize. If not, pick one up for re-assembly.

    @m3bassman another hint for install:

    Keep the sensor wrapped in plastic to protect it and the ports from any dirt or damage while fishing down from the top of the tranny. They are also sensitive to breakage, so don't drop it. Treat it like a spark plug. A $100 spark plug.

    It's an F Clip.

    That means you say FUCK a lot as you try to locate and depress the fucking mystery tab. I wish I had better advice other than get a good light in there and stare at it until you understand how the tab needs to be depressed. This is why you need a pick or some other very small but stiff tool, because the access is retarded. I eventually got it, and I wish I had sprayed electrical cleaner into it in hindsight to temporarily lube it up. Assuming you can even get the goddamn can and tube anywhere near the connector...connection.

    Yeah, I think, but even then, the damn thing feels like it is cemented together. I was just about to give up for the third time and then it suddenly came apart. No shit, I almost jammed a remote control up my butt in a raging fury.
