    What is this shift lever you guys are talking about? The shifter is just one piece... I've taken out the tranmission and can't figure out what you're talking about :notsure:

    They are talking about a manual. On the top of the transmission is a hooked lever that comes up with a ball-shaped end. The shifter shaft connects to this.

    crap bolted and welded together....
    The shift lever on the manual is a two piece unit, with a rubber union more or less between the two. The rubber has failed on mine. Which basically requires you to shift like there's no tomorrow. In gear I can move my whole lever around like it's in neutral, it's really annoying.

    Green section is where the two parts meet with thr rubber isolation section. Red is of the two pieces.

    Not bad, just time consuming and a very frustrating pain in the ass to get to the top two bolts.

    Wow @snowgod06 i had no idea. Mine seemed tight like one piece when I took it out so I guess I'm good :notsure:

    Sounds like every Toyota p/u I've dropped the tranny on that didn't have a body lift. I used to keep about 3ft of extensions and a wobble for that reason.

    Recommendations on where to buy new CV axles? Looking on eBay, $120 for a pair seems too cheap....
