cant believe they screwed up your order as well. I have first hand experience with the same issue (I am the author of the Rocky Road Nightmare thread). Good luck and hope u get your money back vs trying to let them get it right for the THIRD time. wow

Billies and Eibachs, Camburg BJ UCAs, Demello hybrid sliders SOS HC rear bumper, SOS front bumper, Warn M80000, fully armored, Safari snorkel, No-slip locker, diff breather, bumper and roof mounted light bars, onboard Viair, 275/70 17 BFG ATs, and a badass sound system.
I'm planning on mostly using them as hi lift points with the occasional, accidental banging. Initially this looked like a product that was going to fit the bill for me. It was bolt on, powder coated and low profile for the clean look I want. However with all the jerking around RRO has done the convenience of not finding a welding or powder coat shop is pretty much lost.

Do you have a link to the thread? I haven't found it but I'd like to read it.

I went with them for the same reason as they were the lowest profile and tightest fitting to the body as I've seen. When I got them in and realized that they sent me 2 passenger side ones and one was way too long, I knew they weren't the company for me. Full refund and walk away.

Thanks, I havent fully decided on mine yet but it will more than likely be SOS since they are the most local to me. They are in SC and shipping is very expensive when it comes to sliders. I was originally going to get a set of BAMF but shipping from California to NC would've broke the bank. Goodluck with your search. There are plenty of vendors here that make great products. Just find the ones that look the best to you and serve its purpose, unlike the RRO

OP, I would highly recommend going with another company... If you've ever seen video of a tacoma with a go pro mounted to the frame or bed, you can see how much cab movement there is even with pavement driving. Imagine the weight of the cab pulling on the mounting points over a long period of time--something will eventually give. That style of mounting ONLY works with unibody vehicles.

The 1x1 supports aren't nearly enough anyway, check out what happened to this guys rro sliders:

If they are made that way, they should have at least double the support strength.. These are Jeep Liberty sliders, which are much shorter and have four 2"x1" supports on each side. Haven't had a single issue with them yet (I built these)

Thank you Mr. The Helm, this is exactly the kind of info I have been looking for in regards to product failure.

So, I just minutes ago received the long awaited third RRO slider. And it's for the Passenger side... Again. I just spoke with the customer service rep. Matt (a great csr put in the shittiest of situations by a bunch of jackwaggons working in their shop/shipping dept.) and he is refunding my purchase price as well as shipping cost. This company has some major issues to work out. I think they are only capable of manufacturing one side of slider-esque item. This has been a long drawn out ordeal. As frustrated as I am I'm also glad that this company is not making money from my business. To all those who advise against RRO super sliders I completely agree. Unfortunately I will never be able to find out first hand the quality of their product (but hey, maybe that's the best thing that could've happened). Thank you TW friends for all your input and opinions. So, I'm currently in the market for a good bolt on set of sliders. Powder coat would be nice but isn't necessary. I'm liking the Allpro heavy duty for some with kickouts and the Demello as well as the BAMF without kickouts. Any suggestions? Closer to AZ would save me shipping $. I'm looking to place an order today.

All the companies you mentioned likely have great products but I would go with @RelentlessFab ...Reno isn't too far away either.

I will definitely check them out. I've seen the name but haven't looked into them yet. Thanks!

If you can take the time, find a fabricator who can bring you into the shop and install them for you...I'm sure any of the TW guys who do fab work will gladly accommodate you if you find one semi-local

I own a set of RRO sliders. I had a similar experience with the pinch weld tube being improperly aligned. RRO set me a new one and it fit fine.

That being said, after getting them and seeing how they installed, was not happy with the design and should have returned them. The local 4WD shop welded them to the frame for me and I didn't bother with the pinch weld mounting. It didn't make sense to circumvent the float that the body mounts give. I've had no issues but I'm not a super heavy wheeler. They can handle the weight of a vehicle on a hi-lift and I've dropped the truck on one a couple times with no body damage. However, they are on my list of things to change. BAMF, TG and a few others use a better mounting design.

Some things are so obvious that they don't require first hand experience. If all you want to do is protect from door dings or parking lot curbs, but want something that looks more offroad than nerfs or steps, then they are perfect. Probably even okay for the rare brush against a stump. That's probably enough for 99% of the Taco drivers out there. If you are one of the 99%, buy em and enjoy. Just know they can't be depended on like real properly engineered sliders.

I've been looking at my options all afternoon and am pretty sure I'm going with the Demello hybrids. I've heard nothing but good things about them and I am sold on the fact that they're bolt on and powder coated. I'll probably have them welded on eventually but for now I like the idea of being able to install them myself in the driveway.

@JLee's sliders are awesome! The bolt on option makes install pretty simple. Ive got a set and they are definately built to handle whatever you can throw at em.
