I have never been a big fan of Chevy trucks but have caught a lot of crap over the years and seen so many Chevy lovers. With that said as much as I love my Toyota if I had the trouble out of it as my co-worker has had from his Chevy I doubt I'd buy another.

He had a Silverado (13 I think) for 2 years and had the same issue with it for the entire duration. We talked from time to time as I listened to him complain about the vibration issue and how nothing seemed to fix it and even talked about getting a lawyer since Chevy wouldn't do anything more to fix the issue. They replaced wheels and tires and did alignments and I'm not sure what else they may have tried but never got fixed. So I go into work yesterday and find he has traded it in for a 2015 Sileverado.

I know they all have their lemons but would you go back to the same brand and model after having so big of an issue? Is it just that Chevy guys are that brainwashed of how great their trucks are supposed to be? I tend to like certain brands for trucks and certain ones for cars but I'm open minded. Kinda curious if people on here are just as loyal to Toyota? I just couldn't believe he bought another Chevy after all the b#tching I heard about his truck and Chevrolet not wanting to deal with it. Thoughts?

Since the 1970's I've owned Chevy, Ford, Dodge, Jeep, IH, and Toyota trucks and SUV's. I've owned cars or vans by Ponitac, Buick, Ford, Dodge, Honda, and Chevy. Some were better than others. All had their good and bad points. Never had a true lemon out of all of them. I think quality fluctuates, some years Chevy builds the best trucks, other years Ford etc.

I think Toyota and Nissan have consistently owned the small to mid size trucks for a very good reason. I drove 1/2 tons or full size SUV's most of my life simply because the older Toyota and Nissan were just too small. The 2nd gen Tacoma is just the right size and while I couldn't really complain about the others I've owned my current truck has gone farther, with less spent on repairs than the others. I guess the bar has been raised for me.

But if the time comes where I needed a bigger truck, I doubt it would be Tundra. Even with the good experience I've had with the Taco it doesn't mean I'll blindly buy another Toyota. Maybe not even a 3rd gen Tacoma. Waiting to see about that.

I have zero brand loyalty. Now, I'm a big fan of Toyota because every Toyota I've ever owned has been great vehicles. I'm not a fan of Dodge or Chevrolet but that's just my opinion. I have my favorite brands, from cars to clothes to even food chains but I try to do a lot of research when it comes to anything I spend my hard earned money on.

No brand loyalty at all, that being said when I had my duramax I always hated on power strokes, mainly 6.0s and would never buy one, but that doesn't knock ford off I would gladly drive a ford come tomorrow lol

I was somewhat Brand loyal to Dodge when I had a 2001 Dodge Dakota, but then Dodge made the new Dakotas angular and ugly (in my opinion) and discontinued production altogether. That's one reason why I bought a Toyota.

Now...Toyota is doing something similar with the Tacoma...angular and ugly (again in my opinion). I just hope they come to their senses when it is time for me to buy a new truck in ten years or so, or I might have to go to another brand. :goingcrazy:

I'm brand loyal until I no longer care for the brand or the product.

A little of this and a little of that.
I've got to admit to being brand loyal to Toyota. This is my 4th Toyota truck, and I've not had any major problems with any of them. I've owned a Dodge, Ford, & GMC trucks in the past. The GMC was the worst truck I've ever owned. I'll get a bus pass before buying another GM product.

I work with a couple guys that are very brand loyal, one to GM, the other to Ford. The GM guy seems to complain more about problems with his cars/trucks, yet goes out and buys another GM every time.

Until 2013 I had only owned Fords (never a problem) I hadTwo Rangers with over 270,000 miles before selling them. The only issue I ever had was one of them had to have a new fuel pump relay replaced. Then they axed the Ranger. I wanted a 4cyl 4wd compact pickup so Tacoma it was.

When it comes to cars and trucks I'm not very brand loyal but I am picky and will choose reliablilty over looks or brand. Mayonnaise, mustard and ketchup on the other hand are always Hellmann's, French's and Heinz. And I'll probably have a pair of Vans until the day I die.

im not brand loyal at all but i sure will pick an "import" over domestic branded (chrysler/ford/gm). ive owned nissans/acura/honda/toyota all with great experiences. cant say ive ever had a good experience with fords and i cant stand their interior design at all.

I prefer Japanese cars because I had less issues with them in the past, I owned 3 Toyotas, 2 Hondas, 2 Subarus (all great) 1 Jeep and 1 VW (not sooo great but not terrible) - I do have a company car which is a 2015 Chevy Malibu which I put 100+mls on daily and so far it had no issues in the last 16k mls.

For me reliability is a big part, I would say 70% reliability 30% design when I pick a car or truck. Some domestics or German imports have great designs but the reliability image keeps me from buying one

I buy what is right for my needs. That said, Toyotas have been the most reliable, trouble-free, and long-lasting vehicles I've ever owned...

Reliability and economy of operation are top priority with me. Styling is at the bottom. The brand is not important. That said, GM and Chrysler are on my **** list.
