Ya, the cross member straight flange almost need to be a little longer. The bolt hole is slotted, but you can't use any of the benefits of the slot as you are at the very end of it even with the c-clamp.

At that time I only had the TSB leaf pack and billy's up front at 1.75. Since then I've added a leaf pack in the rear which gave me about 1.5" more to regain my rake. Here's another pic of the sliders in use, and with the rear pack installed.

Thanks. I'm a new Tacoma owner, and looking at getting at least a leveling kit. Wife doesn't want it lifted so trying to find something in the middle :)

If that's all you are wanting, the Billstein 5100s really are your best option. You can put a spacer on the front too if all you want to do it level it out. A lot of people frown on it on here, but this place is oriented around the more serious offroad-er. Spacers are great for simply adding a little lift if you are a city driver. I personally would've gone to the Billesteins anyway as I like the ride change with the new shocks.

I understand the bias toward more serious off roading (which I may get to someday but I'm not there yet). I'll do some searches here to find the pros/cons of lifts vs. spacers.

    None yet, plenty to come
Quick question about the bolt on vs. weld on. Is there any concern with the bolts/nuts rattling off or vibrating off? Would it be recommended to use some type of locktite to prevent it? Personally I don't plan on taking them off once installed, so the other question is can I find a welder to weld these on for the price difference between the weld-on vs. bolt on...

Do the bolts rattle off your cross member, fuel line rails, or differential housing? Not being snarky, just making a point. Torque the bolts and you'll be ok. Not sure about welding costs, but you'd probably come in the same with extra shipping cost and material of the bolt on. Just depends if you want to weld the frame.

Did you have trouble with the cross arm bolt? Mine won't budge and its starting to strip even with a 9/16 socket.

I did. The "wing" that extends on the bottom needs to be ever so slightly longer, or slotted more. I had to clamp the sides of the frame and slider plate to push it more over the hole. Then put a jack on the bottom side to flatten out the "wing" more. It gave me about 1!8" more clearance on that bolt to make it go in. Mine started to strip too.

Thanks, I can't even get the bolt loose and its starting to strip, going to have to go get an extractor socket. Did you end up replacing the bolts with longer ones?

Ahhh ok. I got ya. It was tight, but no major issues. I hit it with some PB blaster. I did replace the original bolt with a longer one though.

What length did you go to? Might as well do that as well while I'm at it.
