My guy also said my truck was being built in San Antonio. I wonder if they're retooling the lines at different times.

That's actually kind of a rare truck in Canada then, haha.

I guess I feel special lol.

Yeah, I remember when I bought it the dealer told me all Tacoma's they get are from the USA, but my door said Mexico. TBH I don't care. Toyota seems to have pretty tight quality control and I've never seen a true difference here, or anywhere else, between a Mexican made and a US made Tacoma. Same parts, same assembly process, and the same inspection at the end.

I don't think they are retooling at different times, I mean it's possible, but like I said, in Canada, with some rare exceptions only get Tacomas built in the USA. I said earlier that I only saw Mexican ones during the period NUMMI was closed and TMMTX started building them, but I should have said mostly. I have seen a couple outside of that range, but never an 05-09 that I can recall and never a 14-15, quite a few in the 10-11 range and only a couple in the 12-13 range. I'm really quite surprised Sterdog's is Mexican. I just checked a local dealership's inventory for example and all 29 Tacomas they have in stock (new and used) are made in USA.

I haven't seen any issues with the Mexican made Tacomas either. Seem pretty much the same as the USA made ones.

the warden's Tacoma is a 3 code, haven't had one issue with it. only 1 recall but that was to replace the door jamb sticker for the tire psi sticker having the wrong numbers. and Toyota sent it directly to me to put on.

You can jet the JBL system with the sport, just not the leather. And I don't want it anyway.

yep, we have a 7542 (Double Cab Sport Short Bed) on request with FE, FP, MU and adding in if available : paint protection film, all weather floor mats, towing package, exhaust tip, blazing blue and black interior.

don't see the point of a limited if everything we want is on the sport. push to start, qi wireless charger, jbl stereo.

showed the warden a pic of the limited and sport front end. she like the sport egg crate grille over the limited slats. its her choice and options she must have so that's what we got.

just a heads up, was just informed, DCSB Sport with Blazing Blue exterior can only order Gun Metal Grey interior.

so I am guessing interior color code 14 is probably Grey based on 2015 interior color code of 13 being grey (Graphite)

NoDak - thanks for that - you have pricing to go with it?

Was just looking at that leaked prices sheet again - what is code "FE" - it is obviously pretty darn standard since its on all of them ...

    http://www.scribd.com/doc/270807084/2016-Toyota-Tacoma-Full-Price-List

Anyone in the Denver area made any progress with any of the dealers? Autonation on Arapahoe claims they have some on allocation but won't talk to me about what they are getting.

FE is fifty state emissions, on every one. I've been working with Stevenson West and have an order in the system for an 08/17 build date.

DOH! Feels obvious now that you say it! Thanks.

Stevenson West is where I got my Tundra in '04 - I have a message in with the guy - he's still there 11 years later! So what'd you order up?

Nice! I'm down to inferno, red, or blue. That tan is growing on me but I don't really want to feel like I'm driving an army vehicle.

They're apparently constipated. Since the factory is in San Antonio, there are several restaurants I can recommend to resolve that issue.

OK, just hung up with the dealer. Going in on Monday to drop off a deposit on DC OR loaded.

Three things from this guy who has been a Toyota sales guy since '02 at the same dealership.

    1) What he told me is keep your eye on the "build your own" over the weekend and/or early next week as it is supposed to change from the '15's to the '16's at the start of August and the Taco will be there. You will be able to pick and choose your options and price it then. He wasn't sure if it would go active on the weekend or not. He think MPG #'s will be there when they switch it over. He said that the mothership is still completely tight lipped on the topic of MPG.

    2) Any truck he gets on allocation right now can be custom built exactly how you want it - he said that the new build your own tool is going to let you choose at a fine grained level for '16 - that is what he has been told. We'll see.

    3) This is the big news - he says the TRD Pro is in fact coming back in 2016. They will only make ~2000 of them for '16. He said they thought the Tundra TRD Pro was gone for '16 but he got the ordering codes this week and when he asked the mothership they said yes its not a mistake and next week you will get the Tacoma TRD Pro back too. I asked him was he sure b/c the whole world thought that was gone for '16 and he said that is what he has been told. I guess they wanted to have a surprise in their back pocket for the launch - but sounds like it may have just leaked.
