A much overdue and exciting update on the build.

Pelfreybilt freight delivery and a mod day at @Greddy's shop!

Box #1! This is truly a work of art! Thank you! @Pelfreybilt @Socalduckslayer

    Now to turn some wrenches.

Ready for transplant, now for a break.

Just a few of many growlers of the day. Georgetown brewery's le rual and mannys.

A beer ridden distraction with the sawzall. Farewell chrome!

@Greddy making progress with his Cab Mount Chop.

    Test fitting

Finished up and back home, looking forward to get back at it.

    Now to open box #2...

    ...to be continued. :D

The build is back on track! BAMF shock relocates and CMC Plates are in!

My old german military shovel finally met its match with some rocks.

I learned it's far from a pry bar so I decided it was time to find something that could handle a bit more abuse and this is what I found.

100% sealed stainless steel hand forged by a japanese master craftsman. Yes, I'm geeking out over this shovel, can't wait to put it to work.

    Sweet handle too!
    and a WARN photobomb.

Tried and true Warn M8000S

As the days get closer and closer to installing my lift I have this pressing fear that my 285/75/16 KO2's are going to look a bit small after the lift. Sometimes they look great in photos, sometimes they look disproportionate... by now I've probably looked up every photo of a truck with them on TW. After talking with a few folks and reading up on some threads I just learned that BFG is releasing 295's in a month or so?! On paper it sounds like the perfect zen between 33's and 35's. So I called up Discount Tire to tease the idea and yep... no issue swapping my unused 285's for the 295's. Now back to the world of indecision. Thoughts???

295's are gonna be even more rubby and need moar choppy than the 285's, but it's your truck, your money, and you're time bro. :)

Thanks man, I read through @deadhed61's build last night... but became distracted by his hammock setup. Haha that thing is awesome. I'll have to chat him up about gearing, they might push me into 4.56 territory, and that opens up another can of worms.

Very true on all accounts, chopping and time isn't much of an issue, but money can be. 35's were always the long term goal but 295's might simmer those aspirations. Still a lot to consider...

Yeah I feel you. I'm in a similar boat, but it's not happening for awhile. I'm not doing anything bigger than 33's til I can afford a re-gear, front ARB locker, and the tires in one shot. I will get there, just can't afford to right now.

That would be the next step even if I stick with the 285's. I'll be looking at 4.56's, arb locker... crawlbox... :spy:

Haha yeah the hammock setup is sick. I have his original rear high clearance bumper that I'm trying to fix up with the hammock provision already made. What else do you have in that big delivery box?!

I wish I would have gone 295's for looks, but off road until I trim more im glad I went with 285's. Oh and on road too.. 285's take away enough power as is

Thanks Blake, looking at these parts on the ground has been killing me. My lack of welding skills has been dragging things out. Need my shock relocates in before I can do much more.

Right on, all you need is a tree and you're good to go. Box #2 includes the high clearance rear +swingout +full skids :D

Welcome back man! looking forward to hear about the trip. Trimming isn't an issue, I'm rather fond of cutting metal.:sawzall: But yeah, the power loss could suck. After chatting with @deadhed61 it seems like it's not so bad. I only drive 24miles a day so I'm not overly worried about it. A regear would likely follow suit if she's a road slug but I figure I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

I had to clearance the same locations as everyone else rocking 285's. It's not bad at all!

going from stock 31's (or 29's or whatever they actually are) straight to 295's wasn't bad at all in my mind. I barely noticed it, although I never tow....

I guess with all my weight in armor and camping gear i notice it, but I'm sure a regear will fix that.

Looking good bro! lets get that suspension on now!

My plan is to wear my 285s down and in a few years do the same as you i.e. 35s, regear, and locker. all at once
