im still in love with your truck.


i know that noise is getting to you but the way i look at it bud is that as long as everything is running well and all id keep trucking along
you have no clue how many times a day driving my truck i regret doing the race kit up front. i wish i went with a simple bolt on. but once i hit dirt or when i got i go to glamis i realize why i have done what ive done

how long has it been since you got all your fluids changed?

 

Did you leave the plug in or out on the AFE box? I think the air would be a little cooler. I just installed the AFE.

I changed the oil just a couple months ago. Tranny fluid was changed to Amsoil when I did the valve body, and I checked it when I pulled the trans.. It was still good. Rest of the fluids, IIRC, maybe like 30k+ ago?

Yeah I left the front plug in there. I had the TRD intake, do it was getting cold air as well.. The AFE just flows better for sure.

 

I think it runs better than the stock intake. Makes more noise and I can really hear the supercharger now. My wife will hate it.

 

Oh absolutely. I can even tell a difference between my TRD and this AFE..

I'm enjoying the truck again.. That's for sure. Few more little mods planned..

 

It's crazy how much better my butt says it runs. I want headers, an upgraded fuel pump, and a smaller pulley.

I have the plug open. Watched inlet air temp all the way home. I'm going to put the plug in and see what happens tomorrow. Stop and go in Dallas and I saw 125 intake air temp with 100 ambient. Once I was running down the highway I saw 109 which is about what I saw before, 10 degree delta off of ambient.

 

same here! I swear the truck runs and pulls better. Its a slippery slope.. I'm at that setup right now.. still playing with exhaust combos.

 

Do you like that sub, would you rather have 2? Would you change anything sub wise?

 

at 45+ u will see zero difference as it should be ambient whether stock, AFE, K&N, or URD
been there and tested them personally

 

I love my Sundown. Idk if I would do 2. I wanted SOME kind of storage so I opted for just one, and then storage. It has been fantastic. No complaints at all.

 

That seems about right. But I spend a lot of time in town or stop and go at lower speeds. Cruise at 80 on the hwy. Rarely hit 100.

 

Sent out my Alpine 5 channel to Alpine service in hopes of them fixing my issue. Swapped amps with Luis (thanks again man!) and it seemed to have solved the problem I was having.. so shipped it out today.. hopefully get it back within the next couple weeks. 85 bucks, flat repair rate, including shipping back. still better than a new amp.
