I'm off to brewer lake and bald mountain Friday-Sunday if anybody is looking for a last minute trip. There are a ton of fun trails down there.

Just thought I'd share with the locals about a recent last-second solo trip.

On Sunday, I decided to go to Georgetown to volunteer in the effort to locate the lost dirt-biker When I got there, the deputies said they weren't looking for volunteers, so I just drove around the dirt roads a bit, keeping my eyes open as the they suggested. After that, since I was half-way to the Rubicon by then, I decided to explore the lesser-known Wentworth Springs access. I hadn't been on that part of the trail in 20 years.

The trail to the Wentworth Springs Campground (from the paved road) was 4 miles of forest-maintained dirt and gravel. Suitable for stock rigs. The road I remembered was a lot tougher, so I was a bit disappointed at how easy it was (but because of the softball-sized jagged rocks they used for 'paving', it was un-pleasant to drive on). The CG has a cinderblock outhouse, about 8 individual sites and one group site. Very little additional parking space. The real Rubicon starts just after the campground. Narrow and rocky. I went in for about a mile, then turned around since it was just a day trip, and was running out of time.

    Here's a few photos I took.

added to the OP. You should start a new thread though. Make sure the trail requirements are listed. I would say a 2.5 inch lift, 33s, sliders, skids, and a front bumper required.

You don't need a front bumper... Once it's all messed up.... Gives you an excuse to buy a new one... Still waiting for mine to get crack, ripped or shredded. :spy:

Yeah. last time we ran it. Jerry picked a line for his brother and it it was going to dent his bumper. Jerry said Ill make you a new one. So his brother tried the line and dented his bumper. The line didnt work though.

Obviously the trail changes but I ran it with stock bumpers and only sliders, 33's and front skid. I am smaller than the Tacomas so that helps. There is the slightest chance I will run this but i doubt it.

I'll get a thread started by the end of the weekend. Headed up to Union Valley Reservoir today with another friend and their same age kid for the weekend. Taking the wife's car. No wheeling... Should be fun though!

For the record, this is a dissent bumper... Which is going to get Cerakoted in Tungsten and eventually going on my rig. Then going to have hot metal fab connect it with tubes over my fenders down to my sliders he built for me :spy: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1438354855.918980.jpg

Last year there was a large bolder in the middle of the trail. It would be hard to get a tire up on it without damaging a stock bumper.

Same rock 6 months earlier. so the trail definitly changes
