Went to Home Depot last week looking for a circular saw. Everything was made in China. Are there any companies in the U.S. building circular saws? sheesh

Started to repurpose the old kitchen cabinets in the garage on Monday. Tomorrow is trash day and there is a big pile of trask. The good thing is I have the cabinets in place and started to move my crap back into them with some order. My truck is half full of stuff to take to the dump as well.

The best thing is I have a new 9ft workbench in the garage. I still need to top the 3/4 in plywood with a 1/4 in plywood cover. When the top cover gets worn it will be easy to replace. I do not do a lot of heavy pounding and such on the workbench so the 3/4 in plywood should work out fine.

Sweating my fat ass off out in the garage this week. I have been drinking a lot of water.

I have a few pics but on my cell. I should have everything put away by the end of day tomorrow. Throwing away old stuff I will never use is fun.

    Hi Sue!
Thought of that, there may have been more in there. Hope they can find a way out if there was since I closed up their escape route.

Don't feel alone Tom, been catching up on a bunch of projects and sweating my butt off almost daily.

Carl, it is really hot and humid in the garage no matter what the time of day. I am drinking a lot of water.

So after being called out by our resident Pic Pimp, LOL, here is what I have so far.

Moved all my stuff out of the area to be constructed.

    20150726_155530_zpsyrokeoq1_52b68062c6ac82c4806001f66e1792c273fe24b6.jpg

Started to install the old kitchen cabinets.
    20150726_155518_zpsawgnzkqz_a97a43d14cb7301345feaecdcffad6075466a170.jpg

Installed the base cabinets and put 3/4 in plywood on the top and used the smaller ripped piece as a backsplash.

    20150727_163711_zpsiyq7un8q_e38c2c8865cf7f21bf3e8ca6a3a74c74af871062.jpg

Hung the wall cabinets on the backsplash top edge. Countertop to the wall cabinets is 23in.

Started to clean out the bay to make room for the freezer, my car detail cabinet and a wood table. This left a lot of stuff on the new and old countertop.

Worked on throwing out stuff and cleaning off the countertops.

Freezer, detail cabinet and table in place.

Countertop cleaned off and ready to accept the 1/4in plywood tomorrow.

After vacation I still have a piece of pegboard to install between the wall cabinets and install under cabinet lighting I have left over from the old kitchen. I made a lot of progress since Sunday while still doing what needed to be done around the house.

Lookin' good Tom! Quite a transformation - and quite a lot of work too.

Last day on the cape today. We head home tomorrow morning. As usual I'm sorry to leave, but ready to see home. We had dinner with one of my wife's high school friends + husband last night. Her mother lived here and they bought/fixed up the house after she passed. They live here full time. I'm thinking about it too; it's a nice area, especially (so I'm told) when it isn't crawling with tourists. Winter tends to be mild - it snows but doesn't stay around long (except for last year). There are very good services targeting seniors too. There'd better be, it's Taxachussets!

    Morning all:
Looks like a lot of work and a lot of "stuff" there Tom!

I can't believe that it's the end of July, been working on something almost every day for the last two months and still not done. I definitely put a dent in the to do list though, but keep adding other things to it!
Then there's still the "must" do things, like clean the coal stove, the oil furnace, trim hedges, and switch over to winter tires---shortly!
One good thing: I checked the flu of the oil burner and there isn't soot piled up in there like there was when the "EXPERTS" were setting it up. Every time I think about that, :annoyed::censored: , but am glad that I now know how to set it up properly.
Today I am going to replace three boards on the front of a small shed, and then paint the front of it----one of those FUN projects!!!

Hummm! Also looks like it's also time to mow again.

OK; done with the shed-for now!
BTW: Cant find the post, but went out and bought some Benjamin Moore paint to do the shed.
I think it was Tom who posted about using that paint.
I like it better than the Sherwin Williams for application, just hope it holds up well.
I had never used that paint before, and would still be using Sears weather beater ULTRA if still available.
Luckily there is a place that sells it that's not too far away.

    Carl:
I have been happy with Sherwin Williams for a few years now. I used to use Duron paints until Sherwin Williams gobbled them up.
