If I sent you a set of shorty headers and stock manifolds do you think you could jig them and weld them together so I have a set of shorties ready to bolt on?

Yes sir. Not sure if he still does those small jobs so you'll have to check.

They are but damn does it get tiring and annoying after awhile

You know, i might just make a jig for myself...i saw a guy did it with his stock headers and plywood and 2×4s. Would be good to just find a welder that can just cut and weld with my jig

Would be cheaper assuming you can find a guy to burn them together real quick. I've asked far and wide and no one wants to take on the job. They all say it's just easier to goto an exhaust shop.

I want mine put together with V bands so it's (theoretically) easier to install

Yea...i think i can make a jig easily enough when ive got some off time and then just find a good welder to do it

Sorry I've been repairing burnt down power lines all day in 100 degree weather, so I'm a little bit slow.

Are you sending me short tube headers without flanges? So I can build a jig off of your stock manifolds and weld flanges to the shortys so they will bolt up to your factory exhaust?

I love using v-bands, definitely my favorite flange, but you will still need to have one side welded to you factory exhaust, so it wouldn't be bolt on.

No worries man. I think I'm thread jacking now anyway.

Pretty much all you need to do is jig the manifolds, then cut them off at the cats, then weld the new headers on. In my case there would be V bands in between the cats and headers so a bit more cutting might be needed. All other flanges needed are already there

I went with jba for mine. Got their long tubes on currently. I don't even care about headers for the 4runner anymore. I want headers for my Lexus. But 900 is way too steep.

I went back and forth on jba or DT, i think i just picked DT because more people run them and i havent heard alot about jba. Theyre both carb legal for shorties AFAIK

What is this talk of have to jig, cut and weld? If you buy headers for a Tacoma you have to modify them to fit? I am kinda lost?

Same here. What swayed me to get the JBA's was because I found a damaged box one on Amazon warehouse deals for $200 lol. Also I like their 3-1 crossover more. Looks...smoother? Idk. DT does use the superior steel though and come coated.

Long tube headers don't apply to this because they just bolt right on. Its just the CARB legal shortie headers. They require cutting off the manifolds, lining everything up and welding it. And if you can't weld you'll be paying a nice load to some exhaust shop. Or if you're like me you'll want to just do the job yourself, hence wanting the ready to bolt on headers off a jig.

I totally forgot our headers had the front cats built into them. Sounds like you pretty much want to make a jig and build test pipes to replace your cats. Sounds like a good idea. I'd love to do it, but I think the $200 price isn't too bad. Once you paid for shipping I'm not sure how much cheaper I could be.

Exhaust shops can totally do it, but I'd want to find the right one. Most are just hack and slash shops. I was in the field for a number of years. If Have Any more questions free to pm me here or text/call me at the number listed in my buy/sell/trade thread.

Btw I'd recommend vibrants v-bands. They have a machined lip and the clamps are easy to remove

Oh no I have to keep the cats for numerous reasons. Mostly because I have a dumped catless exhaust, so its loud and its gassy. I'm not too worried about shipping really. Just glad to find someone that wants to take on this project lol.

I have no doubt any exhaust shop could do it, but indeed finding a good and honest exhaust shop is even more difficult than finding a good tire shop. I'll give you a pm this weekend and show you the headers and manifolds. And yep, I picked up some vibrant v bands awhile ago. They're definitely some nice pieces.

    I'm still coming!

@Iggy. I took too long to order on Amazon, one of the items required an extra 1-2 days and of course I didn't look till yesterday. Gonna try to source everything around town this afternoon, fingers crossed...
