It really is, you see a lot of people saying oh if you hit something/get in a crash/hit a deer with a plate bumper your frame is fucked. But this shows otherwise and obviously a great investment.

Is that due to it being aluminum?

Not sure but I bet a steel one would have fared better since it would have moved less.

Oh no doubt, since the aluminum is lighter too. But looks like that fared up well.

Sub'd. So far relentless doesn't seems to be showing the most damage.

Luckily I haven't hit anything with my Brute force yet. but after seeing pictures, I am sure I'll be fine!

While the impact above looked bad, it was also a super heavy flat bed diesel sliding the opposite way. So it was actually much better

Check your frame carefully. Look for obviousliy bent frame members, suspension misalignment, and especially for areas where fasteners have shifted leaving telltale scrapes or discoloration. And don't just check the front. Energy transfers through the vehicle and things can be out of place clear back by the reaer bumper.

Not necessarily, the ARB's have crush cans...not sure about the others. Depending on how hard you hit, sometimes you can just replace the the crush cans. I know a lot of guys don't like the ARB's because they stick out so far, but there is a reason for it, to absorb impacts. Plus they have enough R&D money to do crash tests on their products.

I'd be interested to see someone use these as a basis for a DIY bumper build

Thanks for the tips! It's actually in the shop getting torn down as we speak for my insurance inspection. We didn't really have a chance to look over much before taking it in. Just mainly the front end stuff. But we will definitely go through it very well when they call us that it's all taken apart. On the plus side so far, we drove it home from the accident and we didn't notice any weird vibrations or anything. The alignment was even still perfect which amazed us. But we will definitely keep all of that in mind when we go back to the shop. I am praying for good news..... I am just so thankful for how it turned out.. no one was really hurt other than the lady with the cut on her forehead... well... other than the cow haha

I'm on the fence here. I do dig the cool bumpers. But not loving the celebration at the damage to other vehicles. :notsure:

Glad you are ok! We got your new bumper on order! This may be our first pictures of the new tacoma bumper with a hit. We have a collection of our bumpers that have been in accidents over the years. yours fared pretty well!

Thank yall so much for everything! They were trying to get us to take a "similar" bumper, but we were sold on the one from yall and told them we had to have it the SAME as before the cow haha. But we have better pictures in day time on our camera that we can get loaded and send your way when we get back home. Just haven't gotten to a computer yet. Can't wait to have my truck back together again!

So I am very happy to report the shop tore my truck down, and thankfully there was no frame damage!! Bent quite a bit of sheet metal/brackets. But all new parts are on order! New hood, fenders, bumper and headlights! Should have it back soon! And for those of you against these bumpers because of the 'scare' of frame damage.... I would rather have possible frame damage, and be able to walk away from an accident.. just my .02 20150804_153633.jpg
