I make 55K a year and I owe 18K on my 2011 and 4K on the wifys 4runner, so I think it is more than I can afford but she is so beautiful.. and for that reason I have not done much to my truck if anything but maintenance. Hopefully when she is all paid off I can start with mods. My wife is on her last year of law school so I am hoping that she can pay off my truck sooner than later lol

Hard work and frugal living. I started an insurance agency in Florida from scratch at 25 in 1986. I built it up and used my profits to buy real estate. I did a few flips but mostly bought condos as rentals. Sold my business in '04 and moved west.

If I die at the same time as my Tacoma, I am insured for 25 or 30 times the value. So I guess the answer is no. :)

I am aware. Tough call. Might want to spend that money on some things that I can appreciate while I still feel good.

It makes no sense to have a big retirement account, but not feel like doing anything because of age and decline. I missed many opportunities while young to do some neat things to make sure saving took place. Will need to think on this.

I am in a similar position...I can put money pretax into my 401K and will be increasing my amounts next year to reflect an increase in income...I reach my minimum retirement age an about 15 months.
