My issues are with a 2014. I don't think the company has improved much. Does your truck come with the hackable uconnect as well?

Sorry, I'm a bitter Dodge user. Best of luck with your truck.

If you want to get shit loaded quick do you just slam your tailgate? The only other option is doing the awkward crouch with your hands full to lower it slowly. Are we really bothered over something that actually makes things easier and takes what? two seconds?

I'm pretty sure you don't. You're welcome to post a picture, someone who hauls a lot of gear must do some pretty neat and photo worthy things.

Narrow save. If you had asked on ram1500diesel.com, thread titled "On the fence, should I buy" (there are too many to count), you would have gotten the typical "XXX miles no problems best truck ive ever owned" horse twat answer. I called those people out months ago for being ignorant fanboys and got scorned. Now I get apologetic PMs from those same people as their trucks go under the knife (at best)

Sterdog/bgil - the 8 spd in the 1500 is pretty damn nice actually. I know they're slightly different from the Ecodiesel and Hemi but more or less same thing. If Chrysler had been respectable during this now 8 month fiasco, I would have replaced my truck with a Hemi. The engine has been the only pain in the dick. That said, I clearly don't give a shit about fuel economy anymore. I'll smile ear to ear with 18mpg if I'm not without my truck for 75 days in the first year of ownership. Maybe that argument works in favor of those who are loyal to Toyota.

I have heard that i am getting an update in the mail to fix that. I don't suffer from blind brand loyalty . I have had 2 tundras, both were pretty dependable, but NOT trouble free. I had a 2007 tundra for 8 years, and the 2015 engine and drive train are the same. To me, thats bs and Toyota should fix that...Not to mention the crappy mileage.
I am not trying to defend anything, and and as I said , if this is a butt pain, it will be gone.

I don't think Toyota would ever use an Isuzu engine, though it is a fine design. I would like to see what Toyota could come up with with their excellent engineering group. I expect they would "right-size" the package for utility and longevity (if not maximum power/economy). That sort of design is what I like best...

If I want to get shit loaded quick, I slam a 6-pack.

Yeah scro, I do all kinds of neat things! I don't normally post pics online of all the neat things I do. Mainly because I'm not an insecure little twat that needs to prove to the world how fun and exciting my life it. But, because you asked so nicely, I provided a few of my last trips.

Here we are rock climbing. That was a fun weekend!

    Aren't you a treat.

Yes, I slam my tailgate. It's a truck gate. If it breaks from slamming down it'd piss me off even more. While I get the point of the easy lower tailgate, it's slightly annoying to me. That's my personal preference.

Look, I honestly hope the other guys new Ram works out. My experience has been terrible and we have a 2015 Hemi at work with issue's as well. I'm done with the brand. I have a Toyota, a Ford, and a Ram in the driveway. I'm not loyal to anyone brand though I definitely have a preference for Ford and Toyota because they've treated me well and their vehicles have been reasonably reliable.

Aw man I understand your pain with Ram, but that's Dodge with Fiat engine.
Should have at least bought red one, Red one may have lasted little longer.

In Europe everybody knows Fiat is evil so people try to only buy red Fiats because red supposed fend off evil spirits.
You got dodge with Fiat engine, that's like pure evil, may have as well got license plate with 666..
Fiat is worse than Russian Lada. They can not sell cars in Europe so they bought Dodge to sell their junk here.

A friend of mine has a 2014 dodge ram. After riding in it several times I really enjoyed the ride and interior. But dam, it seems every couple of months the check engine light comes on. I asked what happened and what did the dealer say. She said, "they just keep saying they are not sure why it keeps happening. They said, "this has been happening alot and it may just be the "systems" having small hiccups that keep triggering the light."

Basically, they don't know. She has had a few other issues and all of them seem to be electrical based. When she doesn't have the loaner it's a nice truck. Not for me though, I've dealt with my share of "typical" electrical problems in the past.

Not surprising, my Tdi was rated at 49 MPG for Highway, but most of the time I was near 60 MPG. City was way more than what EPA said, but I attributed this to way I drive ( too lazy to shift on that super torque engine and keep high gear all the time.)

Yep. The Colorado/Canyon is trouble for Tacoma. Better specs: power, mileage, boxed frame, rear disk brakes, OnStar conectivity and diesel power.
It's the fastest selling truck on the market. I have not seen a single review from any source that says Tacoma's superior.

For years Toyota's reliability was better. I have a Corolla with 177k and few problems. I had a 2009 Taco that I absolutely loved.

That's changing, JD Power had more GM models as best in segment. Even Consumer Reports, that never met a Toy that they didn't like, rates Chevy on top (Full size), no rating yet on Colorado/Canyon.

Toyota had this market to themselves for quite awhile, competition makes everyone better. Toyota needs to try harder, '16 looks like more of a refresh, not a new model.

I'd rather put my money into a Toyota but you got some valid points. Toyota rested on their laurels too much. The bulk of Tacoma fans were left disappointed.

That was quick. No, I don't work at Motor Trend, but I love cars and trucks. Currently own a Jeep Grand Cherokee, Corolla, and a'74 Alfa Romeo Spider. Other vehicles have been Fords, Chevy's, BMW's, Porsche, Mercedes. My Dad bought Fords and nothing else. Not brand loyal, I'll switch if something better comes along.

2015 Colorado is better than a 2015 Tacoma on paper and on the road. Offroad goes to the 2015 Tacoma over the 2015 Colorado.

No one knows how the 2016 Colorado and 2016 Tacoma will compare. August 17th should give us a little more information from several reviewers. October should give us some reviews from actual owners.

TBH the Diesel won't likely be a big deal to most buyers. The Civic still creams the Jetta for sales even with a Diesel.

@LuvTacos never cite JD Power again please. They may as well rename themselves J.D Buyourawards .
