I think you might need a winch first. With skids you're more likely going to try to go over things you shouldn't and high center. But, you do have a jack. Decisions Decisions...

Unfortunately I haven't been able to try them on anything very hard yet, there was a section on this last trip that was a "blue square" trail and I didn't slip at all on the rocks going up or down. Hoping to hit some harder trails next weekend or the weekend after. But so far they performed really well. They track very straight on road but are a little noisy (as expected with a MT tire), and they look pretty sexy

I don't like that the sidewalls don't flex very much.. Granted they are E rated with kevlar in them. Me and another guy (same size/tire) went down to 10psi which got them to be squishy and soak up the bumps a lot better and felt really good. The other guy actually got his truck sideways around corners and never popped a bead so I should be fine to go that low all the time off road not have to worry, especially in snow which makes me happy.

That is true but I always wheel with others and they can pull me out. I think I might pull the trigger on the skids, then black friday will be winch, gears and lockers.

Okay cool thanks man. I can't decide on MTR's or like maybe the Cooper STT Maxx or Pro when and if I move to a 35. A dude I built a bedrack for recently came over and he had 35" MTR's and they were sooooo nice!!!

They are definitely a nice tire but very heavy and expensive. In this next year ill see how good of a tire they are in all conditions, not that you would be in much snow haha

I do want to come down and do the Miller Jeep trail (I think thats the name of it, the one you did last year and drove through a huge puddle/pond and have the cool picture). How hard is it?

Haha alright cool man! Keep me updated on how you're liking them over the next few times you wheel!

I didn't do the Miller Jeep Trail, but the one I think you're talking about is about a 2-3 day trail called the Mojave Trail. It's a great trail, pretty easy. There are a couple small water crossings and it's just a blast dude. It's about 150 miles through the desert. Miller Jeep Trail is close to me as well though. When were you thinking of coming down to do that??

I'd love to do it for sure, worth making the trip down? Of course not just for that reason.

But in other news I just ordered full skids from Pelfreybilt! All steel, so now time for 700lb springs..

Worth adding onto a trip but not worth a trip alone.
