Thank you, I'm just trying to work with the base model black. But I'm also trying to set up for a small lift and a slightly bigger tire when the warranty is up later this year.

I'm thinking the same thing but can't decide what to do. 3" lift may be more than I want to go or spend. I don't know....

I'd be curious to know how they do. I have goodyear duraturds and they are horrible. They're on their last legs and I can't wait to get new tires.

Horrible? I don't think I've ever heard that of Duratracs. Usually it's quite the opposite. I'm curious what you're looking for in a tire if those are so bad.

They've never balanced correctly, constant vibrations. Wet traction is non existent. Like driving on ice when it rains. Almost need 4wd to start up a wet hill. They've cupped horribly. They've gotten so loud i can barely hear the radio. The 2 things going for them is they were good in the snow and they've lasted a long time. Probably have about 45-50k miles on them.

I'm looking for tires that will balance and have decent wet traction, along with good snow grip and capable off road ability.

It sounds to me like you got a lemon(s) tire and your poor wear and alignment issues have created issues that normally don't exist in what is otherwise a fantastic tire. To me it sounds like you may even have a broken belt in your sidewall. This happened to me once decades ago (different brand tire entirely) and I couldn't ever balance it and the results were poor wear which lead to a lot of the crap you describe. I can tell you that I live in the Foothills of Colorado and have used these tires in all conditions and after my experience with these and all the tires I've run in the past (I've owned WAY too many vehicles) unless something comes out that's better than these I will choose this tire for all of my 4wd light duty trucks moving forward. It's the best all around tire I've personally used for this purpose.

FWIW, I'm SUPER picky on tire balancing & alignments and I've never had an issue balancing my Duratracs. I really do think you got at least one bad tire in your set throwing things off. Putting 45-50k on tires with issues will lead to larger issues over time.

I had the tires checked for broken belts and had them balanced many times in a row by different garages. All road force balanced. The balance issues started around 10k miles and have been a problem ever since. There has been quite a few complaints from other members with duratracs having vibration/balance issues.

My truck only has 32,000 miles and the front billies only have about 25,000 miles on them. Suspension is pretty much brand new. Ive had it aligned a couple of times and each time the truck was within specs.

The wet traction comes and goes in phases. Almost as if there is different types of rubber as it wears down. They'll be super slick on wet roads for a few thousand miles, then be average for a bit. Then come around to being super slick again. For the majority of the time that I've had them they have been terrible on wet roads.

They would have been a great seasonal tire or for moderate offroading, but my experience as an every day tire has been negative. Except for the snow traction and life span of the tire.

If they would have balanced well, and more importantly been good on wet roads I would have been pretty happy with them. No exaggeration, they are dangerous on wet black top. My wife literally would not ride in my truck when it rained because the truck fish tails in every sharp turn.

A pic just so I don't get too off topic.

I know what you mean about the Duratracs.
I liked there traction when they were new, but they didnt balance worth shit. I had 285 Duratracs on my last Taco. And had them balanced about 5-6 times and never got perfect, just tolerable.
And ince they got to about 20k miles theyre wet traction went down hill. But they still did good in snow. But then around 35-40k miles theyre snow and ice traction sucked. But they still had like 40-50% tread left.
Im hoping the new BFG's do better and keep there traction longer.
