    :notsure:
Nothing new ? But they modified 4.0 1GR instead of reusing existing 3.5 2GR engine ?

So this whole 3rd Gen section of Forum is now invalid.
Its not 3gen if its the same cab + frame + suspension.
At best you can call it (mid model) redesign, although its more like facelift..

Yeah this was a soft redesign like Super Duties have been doing for 17 years. From afar the gen 3 looks the same as the gen 2 and up close it just looks ugly and not proportioned at all. I honestly think the general reception of the gen 3 has been negative.

People have been calling it a face lift for quite some time. It does have a better motor though....I'm glad I got a 2015.

Totally just a refresh. I mean, they only changed all of the exterior panels, the whole interior, the engine, and the transmission. It is basically the same truck except for all the things you touch, see, and feel on a daily basis.

I think people just expected more after ten years...to me it looks enough like the 2gen on the exterior not to be so different that it doesn't appeal. Other then the front facia of course. It will grow on people just like most other changes do. I didn't get a 2016 because in all honesty, I didn't want all the tech stuff. I love my key start ignition and old school 4.0L V6.

Actually that is a good thing, means you can toss suspension on it right away.

I dunno, there really isn't any reason for Toyota to reinvent the wheel (look how long Ford milked the e-series van)...I would say be thankful that it didn't get a uni-body...my guess with the tightening fuel regulations with the next design phase, that is what they will have to do.

So when the frame rusts out, you can actually fix it, instead of trashing the whole truck. zing!

You must be forgetting the leaf springs on these trucks suck. frowning and snapping... sure that's good for people that plan to lift them

They have strengthened the frame. New shocks, stronger tailgate. Pretty sure they looked at the leaf springs too.
