Probably through the dealer since it's their equipment that they installed.

Yes, but what is it? I read the entire users manual online for the security system referenced in the post, VIP RS3200 Plus Securiy System, nowhere does it mention or provide instructions for remote start. ...and, that appears to be a "Genuine Toyota" part.
All I want is remote start. If I need to get a security system with it I'm ok with that, but after months of trying it looks like there are
no options available. Everyone wants to make money, so if they had one I am sure they would sell it to me. Viper, even though their website brings up 3 options for 2015 Tacoma remote start, clearly responded that their system would not work. Frustrating as hell...

Wish I could give you more advice / info, but all I can say is that I do have the VIP RS3200 Plus installed on my 2015 TRD Pro along with remote start, 2 days after I bought it cause the dealer had to get parts

Most of the add-on remote starts work with the factory keyless system. That's all you need. No security system is necessary. He might have "brand X" security system, but the actual remote start unit is a separate system. Plus an immobilizer bypass, but your installer will know which one to use. I'm not sure why people are telling you it can't be done when obviously it can.

I'm not sure why Viper is telling you their system won't work. I just had a Viper 5806 installed for my uncle in his '15 Sport. And it works flawlessly.

I've always been told never to install an aftermarket remote start. I'm told it's not good for the vehicle. Forget the exact reasons - something to do with how it's installed. (this wasn't told to me by a dealer either)

Was told to do the factory systems.

I park in the garage all winter. And at work I park 5 feet from my door. Easy to go out, start it, go back inside and I can see the truck through the window.

Thanks... I sent the info you provided to me to my service advisor, hopefully he will look into it today. This cannot be impossible but so far
I am striking out. I appreciate your input!

I was a service advisor and then an asst. manager for five years, Our dealership did the "free starter with purchase" very often. Prior to that, I was a salesperson at the same place. There is a family owned install shop down the road and I've personally been involved in hundreds of customers having remote starters installed, whether through having it added in the sales process or by writing the repair orders to have them installed.

Never anything declined under warranty unless of course it was due to the starter installation. And there was only one issue with a car that I can recall. On that one occasion, it was a little back and forth between the mfr and the install shop. Our top tech had to do some bench tests on a module to find out that it was actually the car, not the starter. And then the regional service rep for Hyundai was sent out. This DID inconvenience the customer with extra time and trips to the svc. department. That same shop has installed 3 starters for me, and it was on my last truck for about 4 years with zero issues.

Personally, the benefits outweigh the risks for me. Trying to get through 30" of snow to simply get to the truck, hop in, turn it on, and then drudge back through the snow to the house is a pain in the butt.

I had a drone mobile remote installed about a month after I bought 2015 AC, I love it. Being able to start my truck and open the doors all from one single remote is great. Also being able to start it from any distance on my phone has really come in handy as well as open the doors. My friends and family need to leave something for me and I'm not available or they have to pick something up, I just leave in truck and when they text I open truck and then lock when there done. Also I replaced a lot of the bulbs on my truck with LED to include interior map and dome, all brake lights, Amber parking lights, fogs and headlights. Only thing left is the turn signals and I will get to them. Only advice is use a good quality brand.

On our trucks Toyota does not have an option of a factory remote start addon. So, you would have to go aftermarket. You can choose a variety of setups depending on what you want it to do. The only 2 things to consider is how you want to bypass the immobilize: option 1 is to have a key hidden in the truck in the bypass module option 2 is to have a bypass module programmed such as DBALL and such. both work great and i chose to install that option since i dont like having a key in the truck. Any dealership or good alarm shop should be able to install it within an hour or two. its pretty simple actually you can even do it yourself
