Alot of the success that Japan and Germany have had is from the United States. After WWI we left Germany without a thought of rebuilding it and the depression that they encountered allowed a nutcase party to come to power. After WWII The Allies were determined not to make the same mistake again so they put alot of resources into rebuilding the economies of both of those countries.

Or they could of done what was also proposed - take a few Japanese military and political observers to a uninhabited pacific island and demonstrate what the bomb can do by setting one off. Then demand the Japanese surrender or face the consequences.

Not sure why that wasn't done, I read that perhaps the bombing was also to show the Soviets what might happen if they went to far west in Europe.

I do too. Both Germany and Japan kick butt. I've been to Japan twice, compliments of the USN, and have some great memories.

I guess I didn't mind mine so much on my 2013 TRD Sport, but I'd prefer a Linex over steel bed.

    I don't think that's even possible anymore.

As far as I know, the 2016 Tacoma was design in the US and mostly build in the US too (except for Mexico plant). What more to expect?

Plenty of high end audio equipment made in the USA, including amplifiers, pre-amplifiers and speakers. But even at that, electronic components inside could be from Japan, although Malaysia is a hot spot too. But plenty of those high end companies use US sourced components for amps pre-amps. I think even Vizio makes their tv's here. Many TVs are now from S. Korea(LG, Samsung).

I'm sure alot of the high end custom stuff could still be made in the. Vizio is based in CA but the manufacturing is done in Mexico, China and a bunch of other foreign countries. Same with the iPhone. I bet even if you break open a lot of the US made electronics that are still around, the guts are more likely than not made in Asia. I would bet most of the patent money still flows to a bunch of US corporations.

Giving it to the Chevy last year instead of the actually revolutionary F-150 just shows how much that shit does not matter.

I am just glad GM is producing mid-size trucks again. Doesnn't seem to be hurting full size sales. In fact, full size sales are catching up to Ford and GM overall sells a lot more pickups than Ford.
