    Hi guys :D

Has anybody put this on a 2003? My brake cable is set lower than what Jerry shows on the first gen install and it looks like it might conflict with the shock on my setup.

    What do?

Compare my install to the standard install...Sry no Von Dutch ;)

As you can see the brake cable in the pic below is above the leafs whereas mine is below.

I ended up going with the Total Chaos mount.

Looked into that also but from what I have read, the tire hits the shock when flexed out?

Also need to run wheel spacers in the back?

A big thanks for Jerry for the mount that I received today. I'm looking at the pics here and I can see the jist of the lower shock mounts. I'm guessing that the other two plates weld onto the frame and give the mount something to be welded to? I'm sure the shop doing the welding will get it all set up correctly.

Just need the shocks now. Having some 10" Fox 2.0's valved from AccuTune.

I have Dakars. Rear shocks are arriving tomorrow. I'll be swinging by the shop with the mount and the shocks on Thursday to see about the installation. Front's are on order and are a few weeks out. I'll try to post up pictures when I get it done.

I was wondering about the same thing. I emailed Jerry and he said it shouldn't be an issue. It looks close. I'll have to do the u bolt flip to clean up some space on the axle housing for a better look. I am studying the pics here to see about where they should go.

The cable with the bamf lower shock tabs were rubbing and I had to push out the brake cable with a little longer tab.

Then i just tossed the bamf lower mounts cause they are weird and got something much better from a local offroad shop.

I don't have any pics of it with the new setup drooped out completely on the forklift (I forgot to take some)

I can get you some at ride height though

I probably shouldn't speak for the other guys but it sounds like they are asking specifically about the interface of the lower shock tabs and the brake cable. The solution you found may be what these guys can/should do.

This is something I'm looking to do with mine as well jut not there yet.

Here's pics to the solution. The the bamf mounts it rubs worse. Better off getting mounts below the rear axle. Plus it'll be easier to fit the shocks more straight up/down and cycle.

Sorry in advance for the dusty underside. Didn't get around to washing it this week.

Interesting. It looks as if there will be some changing of the lower mounts and maybe the cable brackets. I just received the rear shocks today. I'll be heading out to the fab shop in the morning with the mount and shocks to see if they will work or maybe some new mounts may be acquired. It shouldn't be long till I have this done. I'll post up our solution when we have one...or need one.

Having that E brake cable there is a real PITA and always in the way when going over rocks etc

The different tabs were a no brainer to me seeing as the ones provided will bind at the angle I wanted to be running. Plus wouldn't allow the up travel I needed for bump with my deavers

So I can't seem to get the pics to display using . So i'll post links instead. I got the mount installed Monday. Three pics below.

    https://pix.sfly.com/M1WdH3

    https://pix.sfly.com/T_CCaq

    https://pix.sfly.com/XpiE21

I had the top of the shocks mounted originally on the next hole inwards but I was a little worried about the shock only having 4" up travel and 6" of droop. I moved them out one hole so I could flex out the suspension to see what was happening. I did what I could in the garage to see what was up. It seems that with it maxed out like this, that I am nowhere close to maxing out the shock travel. Still rides very well like this. Any thoughts about this setup that I may be overlooking?

2nd and 3rd links didn’t work for me... but setup looks good. Your more crawling oriented correct? Going fast with the shocks angled /\ isn’t a good travel to shaft ratio for tunability and good ride but at slower speeds is where it makes up for it.

I would just check for full bump and droop. Your gonna wanna check full bump as the whole truck is bottomed out on both sides to make sure that the bump stops are bumping the truck and not the shock. Also going to want to check for full droop on both sides making sure the leaf pack stops the rear end from dropping and not the shock. You can use jackstands for the rear for droop.

For full bump you can put a zip tie on the shaft of the shock (not super tight) and try to bottom it out

Well the inspiration for my setup was Moab and the Alpine Loop. I found that most of the time was spent on washboard or very rocky uneven roads, getting to trails. I don't do a lot of high speed running anywhere really except on the ol freeway. I just wanted a comfy ride on rough roads at around 25-35 mph. Sometimes higher if it isn't too bad. And obviously nice on the crawly bits as well. So slow to medium speeds off road...

I don't know how to try to bottom out the shock or even if I want to try. Lol, not my style of driving. I find that the Dakkar springs aren't really bendy like a maybe a Deaver would be, thus limiting my travel anyway. This is a 10" shock, so I suppose I have some room to grow if I wanted to cut the bed and do hoops.

So the zip ties are just an indicator to see where the shock maxed out at? I thought of maybe a 1" shackle to lift the rear a bit to see if I could get the shocks at 50/50 in the next mounting hole. I'd like greaseable shackle anyway...

Any shackles that will fit the OME and give a small lift?

Yea the zip ties are just a little trick for seeing if they bottom out. Sometimes if included you can use the little rubber piece included on the shock shaft itself (not sure if you have them). No biggie.

I believe allpro offroad makes a small shackle lift? Can’t think of any others off the top of my head though now for some reason

At a 50/50 shock ratio I’d be worried about over extending the shock? As spring over kits usually don’t yield too too much up travel at ride height but you’d just have to check bump/over extension. Looks good though :hattip:
