Well seeing as how you probably weren't around at the time I would refer you to this thread
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/new-tacoma-to-be-shown-in-detroit.354242/

I'm not gonna nit pick my posts out cause I don't have that time, but read it over and you can clearly see how myself and 2 other guys inside sources proved to be true.

I'd really like to know which dimensions changed for the cab but the thread you posted has 89 pages of crap for me to sift through. Any chance you could link us to a more precise point so we can see the info? I'm really wanting to know the differences because I too think they look identical.

    Dude please.
I've been around here since 2006 and have read every post relating to the 2016 Tacoma and looked at every picture as they were revealed.
The pictures all reveal to me a 3 time 2nd Gen owner that the cab section s are exactly the same dimensions.
I believe when you finally get to touch one yourself you will agree.
For now we will just have to wait and see, right?

Looks like the dimensions haven't changed much if any at all. There may be some changes from better packaging of interior space and better front seats that have a scoop for your knees and more room under the front seat for your feet. Don't expect a huge change though.

Dimensions close to the same, but more interior space due to thinner panels and counsel. Not sure where I saw it and flame me if you will, but it is true.

Interior space as in hip room. Side to side

It's the same damn cab. Any difference in interior specs will be because of things like thinner panels or thinner padding in the seats. The truck is longer because of the crap that hangs off the bumper. If anyone is looking for significant changes in interior space will be sorely disappointed.

Its a midsize truck. If you want a bigger Truck go look at a Tundra. Just be glad its no longer a compact truck.

Coming from a gen 1 Tacoma, when I get into a gen 2 Tacoma it feels like a full size to me. haha. When I get into a full size I'm like "I am glad I don't have to drive this huge mother around all the time.".

This was Mike Sweers answer when asked about making the truck larger. He said they looked at making the truck larger but after talking with customers decided to keep the overall size. But...

"Now we did make the cabin slightly larger inside … we'll offer a bit more hip room and shoulder room. So with that our customers get a bit more wiggle room. Essentially we're working to provide a cabin that overall is more spacious and comfortable."

Sign me up, I gladly take a smaller cab, so I can go through smaller trails
