According to the guy on Test Driven TV (video below) and a few other similar review bloggers and websites, August 17th is the date Toyota has given for them (and I presume Toyota) to release the official specs on the truck and release any reviews done to date.

Now specs are specs and those should be non-subjective and put an end to all the speculation out there.

The reviews are another thing though. Expect those to be glowing and for all of them to say this truck is a "game changer" or something to that effect. Not to be a pessimist but these are the same types of reviews that were released by these automobile "journalists" when the Canyon/Colorado came out. They went on and on about how great the truck was. Now do you see some guys in their more recent reviews say the Canyon/Colorado isn't so great - a step up but not a big one.

These early reviewers are invited to these junkets by the car companies - flights, hotels, food, cars and maybe even hookers for all I know. Of course they are going to say something is great and downplay the negative aspects as they don't want the gravy train to be over.

I'm not saying the Tacoma is not going to be a good truck, but wait at least 6 - 12 months for the truth to come out in reviews and on these forums. That's when the rubber meet the road.

Someone on another comment board refered to this 2016 update as a "comb-over". I had to laugh.

According to a TFL Truck video, the embargo lasts until 12:01 AM PST on August 17th so expect the press release specs (what ever those include) and videos to be released sometime during that day.

Shouldn't it be ARE instead of IS?

No because the verb goes with the word ALL. All is, not all are.

Actually, it's a little more complicated than I hastily thought. If there is a known quantity or set or list of things, it often will be All are and not All is. So, in this context, both may be acceptable. However, I would still write it as, All xyz is. It's actually a much debated issue that keeps linguists up at night. Caveat: I'm not a linguist.
