Passenger side qtr panel was repainted. Is it me or does the old paint have more of a purpley hue to it? Am I being too picky? image.jpg

To add I already returned this to the shop once for tearing up the antenna mount and a paint blemish.

I think from the pictures it kinda looks that way...but honestly those aren't the best pictures. Try to get one without shadows lol

It's hard to tell from your pictures. But, as a former (long ago) body and paint guy, if it doesn't match in both color and gloss in person it doesn't match. And for paint that new they are paid to match it.

I had a similar situation occur with body repair and paint many years ago. The paint looked off the day that I picked up the truck, but was forcefully convinced to give the paint a week before I make my decision. It ended up standing out even more over the next few weeks, so I took it back for it to be repainted. Hopefully it's a quality body shop and they'll repaint with care and effort. I did not have that experience.

I think I may have seen your other post where they masked off your antenna base and damaged the mast? It's hard to check colour through photos, even good ones unless it's very noticeable. Ultimately it's your truck and you're the one looking at it so you're going to hold the true answer wether or not it matches. I will say that the MGM is a difficult colour to match. I had mine in our shop a few years ago and that's when I found out that there's over 60 variants for the paint code. Was it just the fender that was painted? If there was any damage around that antenna and base had to be applied there wouldn't be enough room to blend it within the panel. And if that was the case they should have blended the door for proper colour match if they didn't already have a good enough variant picked out. Hard to say..

Yes same truck Chris. Ultimately it's super close and I suspect the metallic flake would never lay the same unless the entire truck is painted at one time.

I'm going to give it a week or so.

I'm guess the front end is new?

Looks a tad lighter to me.

That's a good plan. Even mine in the right light is ever so slightly purple. But in all honesty I know they can spray out 40 cards, check them all and not have any of them perfectly match. But in a week you'll have an idea if it's actually going to bother you or not.

Doesn't look like they blended the panels together!

Usually they don't do a hard line like that and take it back to the middle of the door and blend it.

And the wife just let a shopping cart roll down an accessibility ramp into the side passenger door of my truck. I can't have one freaking nice thing. :annoyed:

On that color they should always blend the panels.that color on your fender is easily bendable, where you couldn't tell it was painted. Painter for 23 years.
