    Hey Guy/Gals!

I'm new to TW, trucks and Toyotas, but not new to modifying/tinkering on vehicles. I wanted to get a build thread going to document the progress of my new to me Tacoma. I found a great condition 2008 SW DCSB TRD OR PreRunner with 104k miles. It was owned by a 70 year old man who took great care of it! My goal for this truck is to clean up any rough edges from the last 7 years of use and cleanly modify it to make it more FUNctional and to improve the looks/performance. Glad to be a part of such a great community that offers endless information!

    Mods:
    - OE Spec Replacement Fog Lights
    - VLED VX3 H10 3000K LEDs

Got rid of the nasty road rashed original fogs today and swapped in the above referenced parts. I personally am a fan of yellow fogs for the look/functionality and these LEDs from VLED seem great! Rated at 2800 Lumens per bulb they are obviously MUCH brighter then the stock halogens. Even though the beam isn't as focused as some of the LED Replacement fog housings, the road gets blown up with crisp, clean yellow light. Just what I was looking for...

I suppose the overlays are more for looks, while the actual lower Kelvin Temp bulbs are more for function. When it's actually foggy out the yellow light is much more useful IMO. I may do yellow Lamin-X eventually to add to the look. I have the overlays on the Fiesta and they've held up well.

    Mods:
    - 2011 Toyota TRD Sport Grille - Super White
    - Toyota Door Sill Protectors

Getting rid of the chrome is one of my main aesthetic goals for this truck. The honeycomb grille from the 2011 TRD Sport models is by far my favorite grille from the 05-11 front end. Cambelback Toyota beat everyones price by quite a bit and it was small enough to even ship for free!

The sill protectors are pretty simple, but useful and will hopefully prevent any future damage. Gotta love Toyota parts and accessories for the fit, finish and ease of installation!

Thank you! It obviously doesn't hold a candle to 99% of the builds on here, but its a process and a damn fun one =)

    - Rocky Mounts DriveShaft SD Bike Mounts x2 (Thanks again @STiLL WILL )

Painted handles have been on my list since day one and I got around to tackling the job today. It was a little daunting reading through some of the How-To's, but its actually a very very simple job that is quite fun and satisfying. I'm in love with the results!

Rocky Mounts has created an amazing setup with their mounts! Extremely well designed, versatile and secure. Really can't think of a much better way to transport a bike in these trucks, besides maybe a hitch mounted Kuat...

    Mods:
    - Husky Liners Front Mud Guards - 56931
    - Painted Toyota Emblem

It's pretty obvious that the OEM mud guards on these trucks are hideous and need to go ASAP. Instead of trimming the stockers I decided to try the Husky Liners on the front first and do the rears later if I had good results. These things are legit!! Amazing fitment, incredibly easy install (no drilling required) and look 100000x better IMO. Highly recommended.

As I mentioned before, I'm trying to get rid of all the chome. I used Dupli-Color BTY1556 to paint the emblem and the paint seems decent. Hit the emblem with some 600 grit before hand to scuff it up a bit and the paint seem to tack up well with decent coverage. Time will tell how well it holds up.
