    Hi folks,

I am about to lease a white Sport 4x4 Tacoma and immediately add a Toytec 3 inch lift, Stealth 6 wheels and 285/70/17s.

My full intention is to buy the truck at the end of the lease so I am going to go with 7500 miles.

Any advice on options or where to order the lift? Are there some tires you have found to work better in the snow? I am going to use this for a lot of mountain snowboarding trips.

I am coming from a 335i BMW so I have a lot to learn.

This is exactly what I am going for, found it on Google Images (User Mops).

    Thanks in advance.

I suggest you look into a long term finance. I leased my truck 2 years ago, and wish I bought instead. Im now buying the truck, and financing through pnc. Im getting 2.5% for 60 months. I suggest that with rising interest rates, locking down a fixed rate makes sense. good luck!

I dont understand this logic at all, why lease it if you know you are going to buy it? Also, you shouldn't be modding it if it's on a lease, regardless if you are "sure" you are going to buy it.

'Most' of the time (there are exceptions to everything) leasing is a losing proposition.

Modding a leased vehicle is pretty high risk. One significant accident, one change of your mind re the buyout, one financial crisis that calls for an early turn in and you're pretty hosed.

Wondering why you need a lift? Your snowboarding destinations in the wild, as opposed to ski slope/snowboard places?

If you are a heavy snow user, dedicated winter tires are the right answer. Regardless of how well 'other' tires do, they'll never do what a winter tire will do. Even though Denver itself is typically light on snow, swapping before heading out and up would be a sure fire way to be in the best positon.

Take their advice. Don't lease. Buy it. You wont be sorry. Build some equity.

I am an Audi sales guy out here. I'll explain my logic here soon :)

#1 though is money factor vs interest rate.

#2 I want to do all the upgrades immediately vs put it all down towards the loan.

Same here. I leased, then bought. It was a Superwhite prerunner with just about the same setup you're going for! 3" toytec lift, Method Standards wrapped in 285 Cooper MTs. Good looking truck! Gotta love the super whites!

Thank you Blackout, great explanation. I have a Toyota dealer hookup out here too so that helps. I don't want a stock Tacoma for vanity and offroad camping reasons. I'll do a topper and sleep back there for first chair powder days.

Any leads on ToyTec deals? Gotta go new parts with this plan but thanks.

Make your money work for you. Rates are everything. I'm old and I was in finance for years.

I would drive it for a year before I sunk a lot of money into it. But that's just me.

well, since you have clearly found tw, this may be a wise choice, given that you will shortly be brainwashed into dumping lots of $$$ into your tacoma anyway. :D

I just leased my truck last week, traded in my car, put $12,500 down and my payments are $98 plus tax a month. Put that $5,000 check they gave me for the rest of the value of my car and I will be using that for payments and mod money. I made a separate bank account so I can do direct payments from there each month and I won't be fiddling with the rest of my money during the next 3 years while I make payments.

Just need to make sure I save up for the buyback because I don't want to get rid of my baby

Leasing is extremely reasonable! I had no expectations of leaving the dealer with a leased vehicle however when we layed out the plan on paper I was very pleased with the numbers.

    See Build Page
    Buy - Don't Flease.

My dealer straight up told me they wouldn't bother offering me a lease because of how low an interest rate I got to finance. Plus I had a trade in & down payment so I wasn't financing the whole truck anyhow. They were honest in telling me it made no sense financially to Flease.
