I started this guy back when I was living in New England, but was planning to move out West. Now that I'm in Colorado I'm excited to start having some fun and do some of what he was designed to do, and figured it was time to start a build thread. It is my daily driver so I wanted a competent vehicle that was as stock and covered by warranty as possible. I was going to go with a regular OR, but got a steal on the Baja and pulled the trigger. My goal was never to get into rock climbing or deep mudding, but to be capable over-landing and camping.

    General:
    2013 Black T|X Pro Baja

Great looking truck. I've been thinking of getting the US off road winch bumper, whats your opinion of it? Huge fan of the clean look it provides.

Strange, I just used photobucket and used the insert photo option. I checked from a browser I wasn't logged into and could see them. I may have to try a different way to host them up.

Cosmetically, I like it a ton. I've not had to do any kind of recovery with it yet so depending on your use you may want something else. I wanted as stock as possible a look and feel for the truck and this works for me. The downsides are that you can't really get to the winch if you have trouble with it, so you'll have to drop the bumper. Field repairs would be non-existent. Also, if I end up selling the truck later, I'll have to find a new bumper to replace it since I had to cut up the old one. The other thing that is a little bit of a pain is figuring out a way to mount the freaking license plate. The dealer drilled before I got there so I have two holes, but it still blocks access to some of the winch controls/clutch. I purchased but haven't mounted a bracket that I think will work for me that will still block some, but hold it up higher and be easier to access the controls.

tldr; If I start doing more off-roading I'll probably need a full plate for clearance as well as winch access. :)

Great info thanks! I prefer the stock look as well. Don't plan on doing crazy amounts of off roading but there havebeen one or two times I've needed a winch to help someone and been out of luck. I'll cross the license plate issue if/when I need to!

I ended up using a bracket like this to mount the front plate. I used the middle slots to mount the bracket to the bumper in the existing holes that used to be the top holes of the license plate. Then I used some stubby screws (1/2 inch I think) to mount the plate to the bracket so the screws didn't stick out the back and scratch up the bumper. Its out of the way and I can reach the clutch just fine.

That looks sharp. Already went through their install guide. doesn't seem to difficult. Now i just need to save up and go for it. Everything I've read doesn't have much drop on the front even with the weight. eventually gonna be lifting and leveling it, just not feasible right now.
