The differential actuator is the same as 2015, however it is a part that has been updated several times over the course of the 2nd generation. It was last updated in June, 2014.

None of the bearings in the front differential have changed.

The front wheel bearings have not changed, though the hubs have.

The camber and caster cam bolts are larger, as are the adjusters and bushings, however no grease fittings have been added. I don't think I've ever seen adjusters on a modern factory setup use grease fittings though, so that's not exactly surprising.

If anyone wants me to check anything specific, I can.

    Thanks for the info Jeff.

    Interesting.

    • With the diff bearings all being the same, diff vibes are assured and the ECGS bushing will still be the fix on 2016 3rd gen (same -> bad)
    • With the ADD actuator being the same, reliability may continue as an issue, although early 2nd gen trucks did seem to have more issues (unknown)
    • With the front bearings being the same, sounds like life expectancy will be the same (same)
    • Good to hear the camber/caster cam bolts are larger (improvement)

Jeff, do you happen to have access to the part number for the SR trim grill ? I am thinking it is the solution to the TRD chrome/gunmetal grill on a TRD.

Thanks. Dang forgot Quicksand was not a SR color, so transplant to TRD Quicksand may be unworkable.

You would probably have to buy a Quicksilver and then swap on the black surround piece instead of chrome, but yeah it doesn't come that way.

Do you have access to part prices as well? I'd be very curious to hear how much each model's grill costs (in case I don't like the TRD OR)

Jeff, by chance do you have the spec for the gear oil in the 6 speed manual?

I asked in another thread, but maybe this is a better one to do it in... anyone know if the TRD decals come in different colors on different colored trucks? Having TRD in black on a black truck probably won't show up too well. lol

It ain't like you can't ask @ruggedT to make you a set that is more "personally appropriate."

I know I have plans for mine.

Awesome, thanks! I wonder what colors the TRD Sport 4x4 will be on my black. Hoping for white/red.

I've only seen these two. I'm assuming you'll get the white and gray with a black truck.

Seems like I bought almost half a '16 when I got my '15 OR.

I'm confused by this. Aren't all SR grilles and grille trims black regardless of body color?

    Jeff,
Thanks for all the great info. You are a wealth of information!

Any chance you have the P/N for the 2016 Toyota Tonnou Cover for the long bed (TRD Sport). Mine isn't coming with one and I would like to add it. Thanks!
