Doesn't look like they make 255/80R17 anyways - which is what I'd need. I don't know why I'm thinking about this anyways, I've only been running my 32" Hankook's for like 6 months now. =/

This is true. The handling issues can be diminished with narrow tires - the wide ones just grab everything and pull you all over the road. With 265s and offset rims, I had issues. 255s on stock wheels, it drives really nice.

It's a contractor oriented tire (beefy) so they assume you're on 16s like the rest of the fleet vehicles. The sidewalls flex surprisingly well when deflated.

    That's putting it mildly.

Take a look at the inside of the fenderwell too. The truck you posted originally doesn't have mud flaps, i'd be curious what else they did in there to make the wheels not rub.

0819151854.jpg I finally got pic's!!!!!! you guys were 100% correct. They used blocks and spacers. I didn't have a tape measure but that thing0819151854a.jpg is at least 3" higher than mine. I can't believe they get away with doing that!! The spacers up front are thin though.

Arcticelf, sorry I didn't look to see if anything was cut. I had to run out of there. I think they are sick of me pulling in everyday and snapping pic's and measuring stuff....haha. But looking quick I didn't see any cuts? But I'll check again. The one I took the pic of is already gone!!!!! They had 4 and are now down to 2 (a few days later). They do look good. I will say that much

looks like a 3" in front and 2" in the back. With aftermarket control arms.

Front lift is 2x the hight of the front shock spacer.

While done cheaply that truck will probably do more than 90% of owners will ever ask of it )

Ohhh so they did put UCA's in that thing. I didn't even notice that. Should I go look at the CV angle? or do you think what they did is pretty good and will have no problems. I ask because the UCA's will only help with alignment. Nothing to do with the rest of the geometry?

UCAs won't affect CV angle, probably worth a look. But they may help with travel a bit, I hope those are a ball joint UCA, Uni-Balls up there are supposed to be a maintenance bear.

A front dif spacer is the solution, my el-chepo kit came with one; but it's a trade off between longer CV life and risking did damage on a rock (cause its closer to the ground). For us mall-crawler guys a dif-drop is probably the right answer.

They look like stock control arms to me. I really doubt they spent any extra money on control arms if they're using spacers and blocks. They've probably got around $100 in parts for that lift.

    Too few to list.
Yep, those are stock UCA's. Spacers and blocks are cost effective for dealerships. I know they add another $500+ just for those.

I may be wrong on the UCA, they looked tubular at first glance, not so sure now.

I'd want to see the alignment report on that before I bought it.

I went back and looked(Plus more Pic's). They are stock UCA's

Someone asked about cutting in order to use those 285's. I couldn't see any cuts. But I think plastic is missing? Unless they made them different that year.

Here are the pics. Also I may not know about Tacoma lifts but I'm a pretty good mechanic. And the CV angle doesn't look that bad to me? I've had and or seen stock vehicles with much more. Knowing how a CV is inside I can't see that angle causing any trouble at all. But maybe I'm wrong?

They removed the mud flaps, and the front flap thing, otherwise is agree its normal.

CV angle is close to mine, for what that's worth.

Shouldn't the stock billstien shock be yellow though?

Good eyes!!!!!!! Didn't even realize that. And now that I think back they all had these black shocks (they have about 5 of them lifted with this set-up)

Picture of the shock by the rear leaf (in the pic showing the rear block) almost looks like it is a yellow shock and then sprayed black. Hard to tell. They have the TRD blue boot tops.

Regardless I wouldn't buy one of these dealer lifted trucks.

HaHa. It's ok, you can say it. I'm stupid you mean. I not only read for hours but almost two full days. Too many contradicting stories about lifts for Taco's. And since I still have years of payments I didn't want to screw this up. And it was the best thread I've ever made!!! I have never had this much help or been more sure of something in my life. Everything ordered and soon to be complete.(because of these guys 100%). But yes I know I'm stupid now. Because now it all makes sense. I think I was just too nervous to comprehend.

Totally off topic: is @wedgemoose a WPI reference?
