Turning seat belt chime off in 2012 trd

    I would like to turn off the seat chime off is there a way to do it i know how on the older tacoma 05 to up to 11.

    on the 12+'s this is a customization feature that is done on the ECU level, meaning you have to connect to the ECU and have the proper software to access the feature to turn it on or off. The dealer should be able to to it for free (i have a techstream cable and software and its literally a 30 second process).

    You can also get a bluetooth ELM327 OBD adaptor and use putty on your computer to access the ecu console directly and type in the respective commands but this way is a lil nerve racking.

    I just cut the clip off the belt and keep it inserted in the buckle. Works like a charm and no pulling required.

    Haha, I was just kidding. I have 2010 so I just did the hold the odometer trick to shut it off.

    I just pulled the spring out which makes the alarm audible. I think with removing it, it also made the icon disappear now. Works for me.
