Well this is the visibility outside my house today. Under 1 km of good visibility is where I'd place it. The sun comes out from time to time. It's been a little better or worse than this for 5 days now. I can't even take my baby out around the local fair to get some air because the smoke is so bad. Air quality is horrendous. I'm surprised this isn't getting more airtime on the news because I'm sure Calgary is not much better. I haven't had to use an inhaler in years and now I use mine every day to do field work. Not to mention everything smells of smoke and I'm sure that will linger. Lots of SW winds predicted so I'm not sure how it's supposed to get better even though the weather guys keep saying "it will be better tomorrow" on every forecast.

I hate respirators working in the heat, but you are right that I should probably use one.

No rain forecast. Just lots of SW winds bringing Washington tree smog.

I've seen smoke here before. Last time the Crowsnest had a major fire it wasn't even this bad. IIRC Enviroment Canada rates air quality out of 10 normally. It's been rated a 17 lately...

I already have one, but we switched models. I use it every spring to calibrate seed treatment and seed furrow applicators. We were using a canister half face mask and now they are ordering full face masks. Until the new ones come in I'm kind of screwed though because my canisters are used up and smell of Thimet (Organophosphate) so it would do me more harm then good. We don't have any of the old canisters left. Maybe I'll take a quick look online tonight for the canisters and see if I can order a few to get me by.

I just wish this Ram 2500 I'm using had a cabin air filter. I should of brought the Tacoma today.

Because they are conservative? Not sure I follow how that chart relates to the conservatives finishing third.

I want the Liberals to win. Nice hair is all that matters.

OZ-T, what do you think of Mulcairs comments on who should get child support funding. In Quebec he was quoted as saying it should only be for single working mothers, which could just be because of his terrible french, but if that's there plan I'm not going to be very happy.

No , because that same vote polling analysis site thinks the Conservatives will finish 3rd

Thankfully the wind changed yesterday to WNW and the smoke is gone for the most part. The forecast shows the wind coming from the SW again tomorrow though so the reprieve may be short lived.

Meh, it's harvest time. If the rain stayed away for a few weeks that would be perfect.

I did the test yesterday .. definitely a social-conservative, not progressive - which explains perfectly why none of the parties represent 'my' interests.

It doesn't. It does show that despite our multi-party system the closest thing we have to a centrist party is the conservatives.
