Not sure what is wrapped into TSS but that sounds like a decent price. I just delivered the first salvo in the "Let me put my lipstick on first before you try to fck me" negotiations.

Salesman couldn't tell me, either. Neither could Google. I declined the offer...though, I did ask how quickly, and for how much, he could get me a TRD OR DC SB 4x4 with tech and towing.

Oh my friend.... I think you know how bad we are going to get hosed up here on price. :bananadead:

If you are thinking about buying a 2016 in Canada anytime soon, better buy a jumbo tube of lube, walk into the dealership, hand it to the first salesperson you meet, and say you want to buy a 2016 Tacoma. The salesperson will look down at the lube you handed them, look up at you, give the double gun in the direction of their office and shut the door while you bend over their desk and wait for for the deal to be completed.

I guess someone has to subsidize a portion of the cost of all those new Corollas and Camrys on the road.

    Email chain:

We have you at $400 above invoice - well below sticker. We feel this is very aggressive considering this is a new body style and next model year.

I'm hearing people going under msrp on these types orders now. Some are claiming up under $750 over invoice. Not bailing out but I'm going to have to shop around if it's full sticker for wait/early adoption.

    --
So Yeah. Um. Except When I add everything up it ties to the penny to the MSRP. Now maybe I'm just retarded I've killed a lot of brain cells in my days but how would I be only slightly above invoice while still MSRP unless the invoice price is that tight? Either way It still smells way too high but at the end of the day I want the truck. I will be shopping my build around this month. I can't drive more than 10 miles before hitting a Toyota dealership. They are everywhere.

Since when was limited ever anyone's favorite, and TRDOR not?
It is ridiculous for a midsize truck. Seems like the GM twins are doing the same thing though, so the Tacoma can. I think the midsize prices should be lower... But with that, you get less tech.

I could get a fully loaded 2016 outback, customize the shit out of it, put a 3 inch lift on it for 38K. Only issue is the dead hooker and deer smell will now be on the inside of my car which is one of the motivations for replacing my current workhorse with a small/midsized truck. I don't crawl with it and could probably live with a sport but a few K in price difference between the offroad and sport. I'd rather have the locker and go full retard. Also my daughter who plans on inheriting this one day is pressuring for a taco. Wife has approved the spend.

I meant as the most expensive. I would argue sports are more popular especially since the LB only option for TRD, I see way more sports than OR. But the 16 OR is way better and in lb!

Yea buddy. $40k for a midsize truck is crackers, period.

For that price I'd buy a used Tacoma, a 2nd gen Miata and a nice econo sedan/CUV that was only a couple years old.

I'd have my truck requirements met, my sports car/autox/HPDE/drop top requirements met and my comfy MPG w/4 people road trip requirements.

Option 2 would be a 2nd gen Miata turned over to Flyin Miata for a turnkey LSx conversion. And just keep my little base Tacoma and 100k Highlander.

Not me, dealers taking advantage of the ones that have to have the latest. Screw them. Make them sit on their inventory

I just test drove a fully loaded 2015 4wd, crew cab, long bed z71, with everything. Tube steps, sliding rear window, spray liner, nav, tow, everything.

Sticker $38k+, my price...without negotiation, was $34400, plus another $750 off for USAA pricing. From their internet department.

I told them I wanted the 2016 instead for the new Mylink system that displays your cell on screen and they said I can build one and get the SE invoice pricing, but not the USAA $750 rebate.

I'm going to test drive a loaded GMC Canyon next.

But power driver and passenger seats. Remote start, bigger rear seats, and a ton more power. Plus the dealer offer 4 years all maintainence. I don't know, GM is growing in me.

Plus there's a supercharger being made for it.

The only thing they don't have that I wish I could get is:

    Push Start
    Home Link
    Moonroof
    Blindspot Rear Cross Traffic

But I'll be easily $5k lower than the Toyota.

I'm going to still drive the Tacoma, but this thing has to blow me away for $40k.

I bought my 06 v6 6speed trd offroad pre-runner w/tow pkg. brand new for $22,050. the same options in a 2016 would run me over 30k. They priced me out. For that much, I'd be stupid not to buy a new BMW for every day, and keep the 06 for when I need a truck.

Fully loaded Canyon which is the higher tier of the two, at $39k to be taken for $32-33 plus TTL, doesn't seem the same as $40k plus TTL.

What are we talking about are the major differences here...

    Canyon SLT with All Terrian

    Power seats
    Remote Start
    Larger rear cabin
    4 USB ports
    Wifi
    On Star
    Cast your phone app
A better back up camera IMO with adjusting turning lines
    Long Bed
    Bose 7 speaker system
    Lane departure/Forward Collision

    Limited Tacoma-

    Short Bed only
    Blindspot Spot monitor
    Rear sonar
    Homelink (Limited Only)
    JBL 7 speaker system
    Wireless Charging
    Moon roof
    Push button start
    Outlet in bed

Just seems the GMC is a better value. But they have very different options.

    Haven't driven it yet.

Unreasonable? Brother, are you 12 years old or a grown man trying to have a conversation? I'm confused now.

If you're referencing the MSRP, then yes. They are similar. Congrats. You can tell the similarity in numbers.

But I'm pretty sure the topics I was referring to is the actual price folks were paying, the fact that GM was flexible on their pricing, and that out the door the prices were very different.

Since economics dictates that something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it, than it's obvious that a lesser DC TacomaTRD model is worth $40,000.

While a slightly higher packaged GM Canyon SLT is worth $4 - $6,000 less.

A huge difference for someone with a sub $35,000 budget.

Maybe there's someone on here looking for a good value, or maybe there's others so loyal to Toyota that they are will to pay absolutely whatever the dealership tells them to pay.

Hope your day gets better brother. And remember, everyone on here is just trying to share their opinion or some data. Be respectful and try avoid throwing out unnecessary flame comments. Maybe we can keep one thread on TW professional.
