Yeah that's what I want to know. I was told they were pretty damn hard to hot wire. But no need to start it if it's being towed right? Either way I'm glad I got my alarm installed

If those thieves are driving around in a tow truck, then nothing we do will work..

I actually disagree. Even though you put an alarm it's considered a "theft deterrent" not theft prevention and I understand that if its getting taken its getting taken. But my point is it will be a deterrent. Ever been in a Tacoma parade? You know driving on the H1 with a Tacoma in front and 3 right behind you? Given the abundance of Tacomas to choose from I would hope they'd prefer to break in / steal one that's not going to be flashing all it's lights and have multiple wailing sirens going off. All we can do is make it harder for them to bother our trucks and let them consider messing with any of the other Tacomas within a mile radius.

Lol I would dare someone try jack my truck that mofo is loaded up the y with alarm. I've got sensors for tilt, cab pressure, window, hood pin, and shock. My alarm brain is super well hidden and my siren is hidden and has a protective shroud around it that you would need to cut open in order to get to it with its own back up battery

Point was, if they want it, they will take it no matter what. I remember back in the day people epoxing razor blades to their head units... if some thief wanted their stereo, they would have some cuts to deal with.

My old honda had tons of sensors and all... even had a fuel cutoff... point was, that even if a deterant, a tow truck will take it no matter

I agree 100% I'm just saying hopefully additional measures would deter a potential thief. If I was rolling into a culdesac to rob a house and only one house in 6 had "protected by XYZ alarm co." stickers on all the windows, pictures of a bulldog, big red sign that said keep out and motion sensor flood lights I'd break into any of the 5 other homes.

Yup hopefully a thief would look for an easier target, plenty to choose from over here.

when my truck almost got towed when I overslept one morning in town, saving grace was setting my parking brake all the way down, made it down while the guy was still trying to hook up my truck, got away with just a parking ticket.

So the other day I was visiting the guys at JSP Auto/Audio....they were telling me the reason a lot of vehicles are getting snatched is when guys/girls take there rig to a shop (any shop) to get worked on....some shitbag that works there goes through the glove box takes a pic of your registration so they now have your address and your vin so they can go get a key made, then show up to your house late at night or whenever jump in and boom free truck.....moral of the story know the peeps doing work on your truck, but as we know if someone wants your shit bad enough they will find a way to steal it.
