I want to be able to use it as an all around weapon. If things go crazy I want a scope that won't fail on me. I was looking at both the EoTech and Aimpoint. Only difference to me is that the EoTech has a better FOV while the Aimpoint has superior battery life. I love the looks of the EoTech but don't want it to fail on me if SHTF with the battery life bing minimal.

my vote would be aimpoint over eotech, but that's coming from someone who has only used both minimally...i run iron sights

Check the equipment exchange over on AR15.com. You can pick up a used Aimpoint for a good price.

Ask for the serial number. Call it into Aimpoint to ensure it's not a fake or stolen gov't property.

If you're on a limited budget, and you run buis, there's no reason you can't have a PA optic. I've found them to be very reliable. They certainly aren't as durable as an aimpoint, but if you don't have $500.... The aimpoint might as well not even exist.

My shtf gun has an eotech, exps. Looove the fov. I can manage the batteries, its not that big of a deal. There's always irons if shtf lasts 5+ years.

I agree, but only based on battery life. Love everything else about the EoTechs. Whatever you do, buy the best you can afford. I bought an Aimpoint T2 and it hurt for about 2 weeks and then the money didn't matter and I had an awesome optic that should last for a long long time and I never have to turn off or worry about handling with kidd gloves.
