Slightly different topic, but still related to mudflaps... Anyone have any experience with fender flares like this? I don't want mud flaps, and I've also removed my stock flares cause I don't like the look of them much. But I still want a little coverage from road debris and whatnot. I don't mean to thread jack but did want to ask this here. http://www.lowrangeoffroad.com/flex...sions-2-5-wide-and-4-25-wide-by-the-foot.html

I just bought the rockblokz and I think I would have preferred something more like Rally Armor. I ran their urethane kit on my STI and I liked the look and feel. I think soft rubber is a good thing for flaps and it helps keep them from breaking the mounting points. I have concerns that these rokblokz are too stiff and will break the mounting points if I come down onto a rock or curb (pushing upward on the flap hard with the weight of the vehicle). The UR Rally Armor flaps reminded me a lot of a lighter version of a first gen flap... I'll probably reuse the rokblokz flap mounting hardware and custom cut something out of a bedmat in the future. That type of material is far preferred to what I got with the Rockblokz.

With all that said though they seem like a nice product, i just don't like the material at all

I agree that if you are doing rock crawling, or similar type of off roading, Rokblokz are not desirable. My truck is a pavement/dirt road princess so stiffer flaps weren't an issue, I also went with the shorties to hopefully avoid contact. I will say however that the Rokblokz are leaps and bounds better than the stock flaps that have no flex whatsoever. If I was doing some high articulation/rock crawling kind of driving, I definitely would want something more flexible.

I agree that rubber flaps would be best, like the 80s-90s Toyota pickups. These were the best product I could find that was made specifically for the truck and far better than the other rigid aftermarket ones. I've only had them out on the trail once, I definitely hit one of the rears coming off a tree it survived. Obviously an extremely limited data point. Otherwise the more flexible option would be universal flaps as DoorDing mentioned.

True though at least GM had the common sense not to make them so absurdly long on the Colorado.

The red decal compliment your red badging very nicely. I got grey decals to match my truck but didn't put them on. I'm curious how yours hold up over time.

2nd year they've been on and still look brand new. I wash my truck once a week and it sees snow/salt. If anything though if they wear out they sell those stickers separately to replace them.

Do you have the textured side of the flap mounted in, or out? I'm guessing in so the stickers adhere better to the smooth side?

I've had a few questions about the fitment depth of these flaps compared to stock and rubbing. I took a few side profile pics. Note the the inner mounting points are further back than the outer mounting points (shown in the last pic), so the interior of the flap (where tires usually rub) has just a little more clearance.

I bought these about a month ago. I bought them in red.
I like them, I just wish they were a little more red, and a tad less pink....

How's the thickness on these (regular size-short) vs. the OEM flaps? Are they less likely to rub with 255/85-16's?

Edit: just saw the above post and it looks like they provide a little more clearance.

If still like to hear of anyone running these with the above mentioned tire size on stock OR wheels, maybe with spacers?

Running with 265/75/16 KO2s and mine barely rub because of the fitment in the front. It pulls one edge to the side and into the wheel well a little

    OEM, no lift. I'll tr
OEM, no lift, but using the TRD fakelock wheels (different BS than TRD OR stock wheels).

I'll try and get a picture that shows it one of these days. I don't think the rubbing is a problem at all, and it is only at full lock and it's rubbing on a part that's nowhere near a mounting point so the flap just moves a little when it happens. Not a problem at all.

Just ordered a set of RBs, waiting not so patiently for them to arrive. The stock flaps sound like they are ripping off the fenders when driving through the woods.
I did have some pulled off my '92 but don't expect it to be a problem now.
Looking for some TRD or Tacoma stickers to put on the RBs.

Any more feedback on whether these have more tire clearance than the OEM flaps?

I'm rubbing with 265/70R17's in reverse while turning.. Running without flaps gets too much crap on the sides..
